I'm going to take a slightly different view. I don't the congress, expecialy the Democrat House is going to touch ANY gun control with a ten foot pole regardless of what Obama wants. Most democrat leaders have admitted that the gun control legislation of 1994 is the major reason they were out of power for 12 years and the reason Gore lost TN and WV in 2000. Democrats maybe be crazy, but they're not stupid, they are not going to risk massive loses in 2010 just to please a few gun control special interest groups.

I think the biggest risk is an Obama administration, that is hostile to gun ownership, using executive orders and siding with gun grabbers in federal lawsuits. I have a feeling the Obama Justice department will take the view that the Heller decision allows ANY gun control short of an outright ban.

Is it possible to buy a gun out of state of residence?

I'm with you infoWarrior - I'm from Ohio...hate to see what happens to them if they try to pry my weapons away.

The time may be coming quickly, when we'll have to decide if *some* of what are called "our fellow Americans", are truly that, or something else altogether. At that same moment, each and every one of us must *also* decide what to do about it.

These are serious, nay, momentous decisions, and not to be done lightly, as I'm certain each and every one of you is aware. I will not, indeed, cannot tell you if, how, or when to come to that set of decisions. It isn't my place, nor do I wish it to be.

What I can do, however, is to publicly state my own *personal* "line in the sand", the point where *I* would have to make that set of decisions, then abide by that, fall fair, or fall foul. This I will do.

I am bound by an oath, first taken in the early summer of my life, barely out of childhood, to "protect, preserve, and defend the Constitution of the United States". That oath binds me to this day. So this then, is my line. ANYONE, no matter who, who takes it upon themselves to subvert, suborn, or nullify that Constitution, in any way, shape, or form, does by that act or expressed intent, become in my eyes an enemy waging war against the United States, and I will, in keeping with the oath that binds me, act accordingly.

Others may have a different "line in the sand", but this is mine, and it is irrevocable. What choice others may make, is their affair, but I have made mine. Pray that this, or other lines in the sand are not crossed by the hubris-obsessed folk who appear to be ready to take the levers of power in this nation. Indeed, pray for us all, even as I do...

“Expect a slew of bills are already written, agreed to, and ready to ram thru Congress the moment a suitable statistically-predictable high-profile crime occurs.”

I expect them to go through starting January 21,2009. Mainly because the President will be too coked out from celebrating January 20th.

Tom Gresham covered this very topic this past weekend. You can download his shows for free.

http://guntalk.libsyn.com/

I don’t think it will be that direct. If it was, very few would resist. Those that do will meet an untimely death at the hands of overwhelming force. Go back and review some of the videos of our military dealing with insurgents in iraq and afghanistan. They are very good at what they do. And they WILL follow the orders if they are given. At that point you are an insurgent, a threat to the United States.
Revolution is romantic but few would actually follow through, putting their families and assets at risk. Those that do choose to resist will be dealt with quickly and effectively. It will just fill a few body bags - the result will be the same.

The only way to beat it is politically. Join the NRA or another gun rights organization - or both. Strength in numbers. If Congress feels their jobs may be in jeopardy, they will think about their decisions a little harder.

Unless the judiciary demands proof to verify his eligibility to even be President it won’t be worth the fight because we won’t have an operating Constitution.

50+% voted him in and I have no intention of attempting to force my will upon fellow Americans who prefer communism to freedom.

How to outlast an Obama administration:
1) Join the NRA
2) Stock up on guns
3) Stock up on ammo
4) Don’t show anyone your gun collection, or tell anyone about your gun collection.
5) wait it out

Gun prices are not going to go down. Stocking up on guns is about as good an investment as you can make. Probably better than gold. Definitely better than stocks or bonds in today’s markets.

“I hope the JBTs realize that the phrase “from my cold, dead hands” actually means something.”

I think it means very little. Frankly, I find that phrase along with “molon labe” to be tiresome. They’re slogans usually (but not always) uttered by those who simply want to sit on their asses and let someone else do the heavy lifting to protect our gun rights.

Heaven forbid worse comes to worst. I expect that 90% plus of said individuals would not only allow their guns to be taken from their very live and trembling hands, but would show up early to turn in their guns should that confiscation order ever come about.

Needless to say, the MSM.....even Fox....is asleep at the switch on this issue.

They're not asleep - the MSM, including Fox is on the Obambi team.

I’m in Michigan too and it’s getting pretty tedious to listen to others cut down the citizens of our state just because of the heavy union influence here.

Well, at least you're not in Mexifornia, where people also lump in us conservatives with the liberal wackos along the ocean.

I don't take it personally. I know most smart people are just frustrated with how the state as a whole votes (I am as well).

Oh no? At least, not on a large scale.

A lot of people talk really big here, but when it gets very quiet think this through. Are you really ready to shoot it out? Are you honestly prepared to face overwhelming odds with very experienced merciless people opposing you? Are you actually ready to die for your beliefs? Remember the footage of Waco?

I was in one of the sporting goods superstores this weekend and I have to tell you, there was an incredible run on ammo. The warehouse management was there and he told me that he'd never seen such a shortage - down to 20% at the warehouse. I managed to get a box of 100 .40’s but that was all.

This may be a self-fulfilling prophesy - as demand increases price will like increase.

The only way revolutions have worked is if the military did not follow orders or actually joined the other side. As little as our military likes liberals via their votes, if it comes down to shooting civilians or joining them, I'd bet on our military to do the right thing.
