CHICAGO (AP) The Tribune Company, owner of newspapers including The Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune, along with the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, said Monday that it lost $121.6 million in the third quarter as newspaper advertising revenue fell.
The company, which is privately held, had net income in the comparable quarter a year earlier of $152.8 million. Revenue fell 10.5 percent, to $1.04 billion, from $1.16 billion a year ago, the company said.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer newspaper syndicate. NOT.
There is Justice in the World.
But we do need Newspapers, they just need to print the news and not editorialize when doing so.
Buh Bye.

How is it that these big liberal money losers continue to get the credit to fund their operations?
If they were conservative leaning, the bank loans would dry up faster than the California courts will overturn Proposition 8.

I guess they just can't compete in the infotainment market anymore. Everyone knows that The Enquirer, The Globe, and The Sun must surely be beating them hands-down right now. Everyone knows that Bigfoot, bat boy, and the exploits of Hollywood trash takes precedence over real news. Just look at the magazine racks in the checkout line at your favorite grocer.

I used to be part of that business from writing stories through the 5 unions to get the paper out. As part of the Mailers Union I made great money before I handed the papers off to the Drivers and Distribution (Mafia).
To this day the unions are causing a lot of the problems with newspapers.
Times change and the newspaper business might be the last to learn about it. Fact, the Mailers Union had 227 people distributing papers to the drivers. Now they do it with 55 people.

Time to close down the credibility challenged LA Times.
Who in their right mind would read this rag ever again, after this last election?

Wake up People!!! Cancel your subscriptions to the NYT’s, LA Times and Chicago Tribune. (not that anyone on FR subscribes but some of our neighbors, associates and friends may - talk to them).
Move your mutual fund portfolio away from investments in these Newspaper companies.
NYT is a junk bond status. Write the advertisers. Cancel subscriptions. Don’t buy the papers.
The Media as we know it now must lose. We can help make it happen. Who’s with me! Let’s Go!
