WASHINGTON -- Students at a private school in Washington's tony Georgetown neighborhood were buzzing after a visit from Michelle Obama, who is scouting new schools for her two daughters.
Michelle Obama flew to Washington ahead of her husband on Monday and then visited Georgetown Day School.
Reporters and camera crews had camped out at two other Washington private schools: Sidwell Friends School and the Maret School.

If you had options would you send your kids to Washington DC schools? Hell no. She would be a damn fool to do so. A suburban public school outside the city maybe, but no way do you put your pampered kids in a school like that. Barry himself would have been fine in a public school as a youth, but his kids are used to a different lifestyle.

But boy does it make him look like a hypocrite. Claiming to care about the needs of the “peasantry,” all the while sending his children to a high falutin school where they won’t be exposed to the “have-nots”. Typical limousine liberal.

HEY, you snobby elitist socialist! If the DC Public Schools are “good enough” for 73000 students, mostly the type of folks you and your hubby claim to be “for”, then they are good enough for your brats...
What? are you afraid of the union-controlled septic tank schools with their rampant drugs, violence, and way sub-average performance? Gee - but they are “good enough” for the “other” folks...
The liberals always praise the public schools, and resent rich Republican conservative types who abandon the public schools to send their own kids to private school.
What type of example will the Obamas set?
My guess will be that they will go private school, and justify it based on security reasons. They will not say anything negative about DC public schools. They will say that security is better at private schools, and the Secret Service weighed in, etc. etc. Something like this will be said to justify them not going to public school.
Does everyone here know that the DC public schools are at the very top nationwide in per capita student spending? So money is not their problem.
It’s a shame that for spending the most money, they get some of the worst results in the classroom. It’s a dam shame.
