They had a long run. Rush and Malkin and Lucianne and Drudge and Free Republic and those Littlle Green Footballs.
But it's over. The Obama Presidency will produce untold millions for these guys because frustration and hate is something you can take to the bank -- but with no branch of government under their control, they have been rendered powerless. Who will pay attention when some irrelevant rightist hack like Eric Cantor (R-VA) or Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) rushes to the House floor to cite a Michael Savage diatribe? Nobody.
A great part of the Right's strength was the belief -- shared by many on the left -- that they represented the majority. We were an embattled minority, fighting them, history and demographic trends.
"We are, after all, a center/right country," they said and we echoed.
But now it is clear we are not. We're a centrist country and they are perceived by a clear, strong majority of Americans as the fringe. (Just look at those election returns from 2008 and 2006). They are like the far left. In that famous old dustbin.
I read their websites. They are counting on (hoping and praying) that Barack Obama will be a bad manager like Carter or undisciplined like Clinton. Not very likely. Besides, without control of Congress, what can they do anyway?
They can talk and raise money. We have the White House, Congress and are better at raising money.
So they are back to where they where after Goldwater lost. The wilderness...

I think McSocialist killed it with his support of the bailout, not that he was a good choice to start with.

Rosenberg worked for AIPAC in the 1980's but after the Oslo agreement of 1993 broke with the AIPAC approach and became an active supporter of the two-state solution and of both Israeli and Palestinian rights.
Previously he spent 17 years on Capitol Hill and five as as political appointee at the Clinton State Department.
In a recent column he wrote that "these days you cannot be pro-Israel without supporting the two-state solution i.e a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza. Official pro-Israel spinners who engage in Palestinian bashing are working against Israel's long-term survival."
Rosenberg also sends regular bulletins to Capitol Hill rebutting AIPAC's promotion of legislation designed to derail Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Rosenberg first came to the attention of the Jewish community when he authored "To Uncle Tom & Other Such Jews" in the Village Voice 1969. A college junior, Rosenberg urged leftwing students not to "support every national lineration struggle but your own: Zionism." That article helped kick off the radical Zionist movement on US campuses.
Rosenberg moved away from that position after Oslo. He continues to support Israel but believes, as he said in a recent article, that "if you are anti-Palestinian, you are also anti-Israel. The fates of these two peoples are linked together. The Jewish Right, which has no sympathy for Palestinians and would deny them their basic rights -- including a state -- are no friends of Israel. Fortunately those types tend to live in the United States rather than in Israel, although Israel has an extremist minority as dangerous to Israel's future as their colleagues in Brooklyn."
What I want to khow is how come Obama was able to raise an unprecedented amount of money? $600 million I believe it was. If the economy was so bad, as the Dems claimed, where did people come up with all the money for those donations? (I realize some of it came from outside the country.)

As a conservative, I would rather go over the cliff fast and furious. Than suffer a slow death. As our polatic becomes more liberal. And the so call political center moves very slowly to the left. The true right wing conservative like Ron Paul were left behind along time ago. Like 80 years ago. And the right keeps moving to the left. The fact is that the true moral conservative have to say no to the immoral progressive left. That has poluted the right. And that sounds extermist to the left. They will ban the bible, free speech, by fairness doctrine, and ban our guns also considered extremist.
Give him about 6 months and there will be lots who will say he’s not their president either.
The problem is that they won’t be content for us to be in the “wilderness”, we must be made over, into correct citizens. They already have our children now it’s only a matter of getting the old folks out of the way.

Hey, they should know. Their liberal sites (which shall be nameless because of the contamination of evil) raised not only the bar as far as how many profane, blasphemous and absolutely hateful slurs, pejoratives, bigoted comments, and complete lies could be mentioned in their posts, but also the template on how to raise money.

They seem to assume the world will be filled with cute little bunnies, children singing and magic fairy dust for the next four years. Something bad will happen; it always does (Biden even predicted it).
Then we will see the true measure of the man-child who has been elected to lead this country. The moonbats will still be ok with whatever he does. But there will be enough who will come to their senses and begin to fix this mess in 2010.

How quickly these knuckleheads forget the 1966 election. Or if you want a more recent example, the 1994 election.
Personally, I find that the -only- redeeming characteristic of Obama’s election is that I will feel no obligation whatsoever to defend the policies of the President. What a refreshing change that will be from Bush and McCain. I imagine that many conservative writers and radio voices feel the same.
Yeah, good point, being sore winners. They love to gloat , as anyone who’s been listening to talk radio for the past week can attest. And there’s no real rhyme or reason to it, except that they’re now in a very “whistling-in-the-dark” mode of insecurity, like a great many Obama voters and non-voters, for entirely different reasons.
How about a satire about all conservatives becoming democrats and taking back control from within?
The Chicago Tribune just reported a third quarter loss of 124 million. How did Rush do in his last quarter?
Well a true leftist doesn’t need to worry about elections.

Rush has said and I agree that they will change the election rules.
Ironically 2008 might be remember as the last FAIR election....
