I’d take this with a big grain of salt. “Reportedly”? Reported by whom? And Obama has been pretty emphatic about not being President until January 20, so I really doubt that he has sent anyone anywhere on a “diplomatic mission”. Seems more likely that the guy headed out there on his own initiative, and may be trying to give the impression that he’s on a “diplomatic mission” from the President-elect. If so, he’d do well to steer clear of Rahm Emanuel upon his return.
