Q -- Why did your campaign lose? A -- I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a $10 trillion debt in a Republican administration, how have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration.

To say Bush’s second term has been a major disappointment would be an understatement.

I think we keep that one but think we lose AK and MN.

The Dems may have overreached in MN bringing in too much oversight to steal Norm Coleman's Senate seat.

One of the counties that "found" a 100 votes for Al Franken used optical scanners that phone home with the count after the election and also prints out a tally of votes.

After they found the 100 Franken votes, the Coleman folks asked to see the printout. They produced a printout showing the extra 100 votes, BUT, it was dated Nov 2 not the 4th.

Of course Norm's folks said nice try, but we need the legally required printout signed by the election officials after the election. They now say that they are unable to produce the legally required and signed printout.

Now there are a lot of crooked Dems here in MN, so they may still be able to steal it, but as I said, their fumbling is attracting a lot a attention, which may hinder their theft greatly.

I hope in the coming months Sarah takes no prisoners. I am outraged at the attacks on her. During the campaign it was the Democrats ripping her to shreds. Then after the election it’s alleged Republicans trying to blame her for the loss. McCain won more votes with her on the ticket. If he doesn’t have Sarah, he loses by at least 10-15%.

McCain is a weasel and he won’t stand up for her. It’s good people like Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Mike Pence, Thaddeus McCotter, Mark Sanford and Eric Cantor who are the future of the Conservatism and the Republican party. We need to send the old RINOsaurs like McCain, Romney, Guiliani and Boehner packing. Time for a new beginning.

Why is it always “Sarah” not “Palin?”
It was “Hillary” to distinguish her from the other Clinton.
In most cases, though candidates are referred to by their last names.
I really think it would be helpful to have that continuity regardless of gender.
Just My Flame-able Opinion

Could be. Good point. I certainly hope so. Hopefully Norm has got some good boots on the ground.

Shining a light on it all is definitely our best hope.

“,What was John Mccains first reaction? Blame Chris Cox instead of blaming Barney Frank despite the fact the SEC went to congress 19 times about Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac”

You are right of course.
Sure the financial crises was always going to be bad news for Republicans, but McCain's totally insane, chaotic reaction to the crises helped to finally finish him off. All he did was blame Republicans like Chris Cox, and blame capitalism itself, then topped it off by voting for that bailout, which over 80% of Republicans were against. Had McCain heard of Barney Frank, the guy who is one of the most responsible for this mess? Instead of blamimg Cox in that speech, he'd have been far better off blaming the real culprit, Barney Frank. How clueless can anyone get? Groan!

Bush could have taken care of his base. When he didnt the media hammered him and caused his base to turn away. If he had been hammered by the press and had passed conservative policies, the base would have hammered the media so much they would have backed off.
I am not sure if you can find in history a president that had the ratings he did and ended so poorly. During his administration we had the house senate and presidency and couldnt get our judges, taxes, or spending policies in place.

What the hell do they think we are willing to vote for another GOP person especially when that person holds few of our core values.

Republicans can not lead because they do not have the identity of leaders. When they are in power, all the dems have to do is call them “ mean spirited” and they crumble like a 4 year old little girl.

Until their is a change in the identity of those we send we should not bother to support a party that could not give us the changes we demanded and they promised.

Take your political donations and support your local church. It will do far more good then giving it to the GOP.

If you’ll notice, the economy didn’t dive into the commode until Pelosi and crew took over and “managed” things for two years, deliberately sabotaging it. Could it have been that they actually despised the President so much? Yes; they and the media. Pres. Bush kept us safe for seven years. He dealt with the terrorists and hit them hard, eliminated a lot of them and will until he is no longer POTUS. - After that, yer on yer own!

Fools and idiots voting was the cause.

Exactly!

It may have also helped if they had run against B. Hussein instead of President Bush.

Supreme Court Judges? Tax money paying for abortions? Any gun grabbing happen on Bush’s watch?

Supreme Court Justices - Bush got a lot of "help" making the correct choice instead of an unkwown Harriet Miers who may have "grown" into a liberal once seated on the bench.

Gun grabbing - Bush said he would sign gun control if it made it to his desk.

I hope Sarah Palin isn’t throwing President Bush under the bus.

My thoughts exactly!

Exactly. She also has not had to deal with rival factions within the govt bureaucracies who undermined Pres Bush so often that I wonder how he was able to trust anybody. I am a big fan of Gov Palin but I will not be for long if in fact she makes judgments about his presidential tenure without knowing the facts involved in his decisions. He had a war to run, kept this country safe for 7 years, and had to get money to pay for it from a hostile democrat congress who played politics with the lives of our military. If the various Republican Party factions think they can rebuild the party by continuing to use Pres Bush as their scapegoat they might as well not bother, they will not succeed but only drive more Republicans to go Independent. Including me.

“I tend to agree with her. The Bush admin was hardly small govt conservatism.”

We had six years with Bush and a Republican congress. The spending during that period was Democratesque and really destroyed the image of the party as a party that is responsible fiscally. Sure we pay great lipservice to small government but when given power elected Republicans did the opposite and spent like crazy. That is a huge part of the reason people became disillusioned with the party and we’ve been whipped two straight elections.
