This is exactly what I was thinking.
I have at least one day of laughter ahead of me: when the NYT goes bankrupt.
The targets and their “management” probably were aware that there was no true safe haven from U.S. retribution. This just confirms that we were doing it right.
The leaders of those countries know and have no problems with it as long as we line their pockets to keep quiet. But their people dont.
Because once they find out...
What this shows is why we have not been attacked again and how we have eradicated most of al Qaeda around the world. I think this is a parting shot at Obama, not at Bush. Kind of a “Ok, folks. You wanted him. Don’t blame us if al Qaeda gains strength under his administration.”
Biden would have been briefed on it in 2004.
When you think about it, none of this is news. It’s just repackaged and tied with a big red bow.

We’ve always known this. If you’ve listened to Bush’s speeches on this, he’s always mentioned that there are three fronts in this war - Iraq, Afghanistan, and the “secret” front. Or at least it was secret until now.
He gets his first briefing and the NY Times already has it posted for the whole world. Sickening.
I hope Phillp Berg is the patriot I think he is and that the people on SCOTUS still care about America. I sure think Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalia are.

Secret enclaves of al-Qaeda extremists based in London, Birmingham and Luton are planning mass-casualty attacks in Britain, according to a leaked Government intelligence report.

The document, which was drawn up by the intelligence branch of the Ministry of Defence, MI5 and Special Branch, states that "some thousands" of extremists are active in the UK. They are predominantly UK-born and aged between 18 and 30, and many are believed to have been trained in overseas terrorist camps.
Under the heading "International Terrorism", the report, which is marked "restricted" states: "For the foreseeable future the UK will continue to be a high-priority target for international terrorists aligned with al-Qaeda. It will face a threat from British nationals, including Muslim converts, and UK-based foreign terrorists, as well as terrorists planning attacks from abroad."
