Where on earth did you get the idea that when Obama’s mother abandoned him she left him to stay with Frank Marshall Davis?

Barry was living with his white grandparents in Hawaii and was often mentored by Frank Marshall Davis, a friend of his grandfather, Stanley Dunham. Grandpa and Barry would go to Frank’s house, where Frank would serve gramps whiskey from a jelly jar, and read his poetry to Barry. Then gramps and Frank would ad lib and compose dirty limericks, soliciting contributions from Barry.

Not sure what “mentored” means here. Was Davis helping him with his homework? No. He was teaching him to hate whitey. He may have radicalized him to socialism and Marxism, though Davis was one of the many fellow travelers who felt betrayed by the CPUSA in the ‘30s when Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler. This turned Davis off to the CP but not necessarily to Marxism as such.

Was a sexual relationship involved between them? I don’t know. Davis admitted to “being bisexual under certain conditions.” What conditions were those, Frank? Young boys, perhaps?

Barry’s mother, Stanley Ann, had abandoned Barry after she finished her coursework at the University of Hawaii. She returned to Indonesia with Barry’s half-sister, Maya, to write her doctoral dissertation.

Given that Frank Marshall Davis was a pornographer (having written an explicitly pornographic autobiographical novel titled “Sex Rebel: Black”); a member of the Communist Party USA; and a racist (it was he who taught young Barry always to distrust whites), it’s fair to assert that his mother abandoned Barry TO Frank Marshall Davis.

Physically, he was living with his white grandparents, in a nice house, and attending an upscale school, all provided by his white grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. Since he received no spiritual or intellectual guidance from his grandparents (Stanley sold insurance and furniture, and Madelyn was a vice president of a bank), Barry spent much time and was much influenced in his thinking by Frank Marshall Davis. That’s what “she abandoned Barry and left him to stay with Frank Marshall Davis” obviously means.

Don’t be such a literalist. No one ever claimed that he actually roomed with the guy.
