As for the mandatory National service deal, the whole thing is completely unworkable, and even if Congress passes it, I doubt it will last very long before it completely falls apart for a variety of reasons, namely failure to cooperate by millions of already laxy teens and college students.
This is all just a bunch of typical Socialist utopian BS that will soon prove to be completely unfeasible, especially once the complaints start raining down upon the heads of Congressmen who might vote for such an abomination to personal liberty. Good thing that Congressional elections are held every two years so that the fear of the voting public can force the Congress critters to re-examine some of the loony-tune things they promise to do during previous election cycles.

He’ll have to reinstate the draft. Re-enlistments will drop to almost zero... early (earlier than otherwise) retirements will be prolific. Enlistments for the right reasons will be minimal.

The only thing I like about the draft is illegal immigrants are eligible. If they are found to have not registered, they have broken the law. Pretty clearly spelled out on the Selective Service website FAQs.
Considering how he wants to expand the WOT in Pakistan and Afghanistan; considering how he expects NATO troop expansion in Africa; considering how on October 25th he said if we’re at war we all go - not just some; considering his statements that the military should include youth from all walks of life to balance out ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, it wouldn’t surprise me if he did. I’m willing to bet in the spirit of equality there would be no deferments for something like higher education.
I replied that Obamao will be the only one starting the draft.
He promptly replied, "WHAAAT?"
"Don't worry", I said, "It won't be for the Army, Navy, Air force or Marines..." lets just say that left him perplexed.
When I began to tell him of Obamao and his Domestic Ostapo force, he accused me of lies.
He then told me he would vote for Obama just to cancel my vote for McCain, I highly doubt he actually voted.
