Imagine the shining city on the hill- and in the background, the theme song “Movin’ On Up” from “The Jefersons”
(no, not Thomas Jefferson)

” We fight this tooth and nail, march on Washington if we have to.”

This nation is in for a rude awakening the first time this happens during the Obama presidency. Remember those perpetually angry radical blacks who don't seem to have a job? They'll be there armed to the teeth on day one to defend “their guy”. Remember the OJ verdict? Remember the 80 some odd percent of ostensibly Christian blacks who supported a double murder rather than the very same justice that was denied many a black man by human evil. What are the odds that those OJ supporters are going to sit still while “The First Black President” is “attacked”?

Obama has a sort of defacto standing army in the country right now. If he proceeds to wipe his ass with the Constitution and this act is resented in a patriotic , forceful way, that army will pop into view so fast it won't be believed.

I think I shall call these, “The Five Things You Can’t Say To A Conservative”.

Maybe in the next election the GOP candidate should hire an acting coach.

Although Obama may have won on tactics, I don't think we lost on tactics. We lost on the fundamentals. The majority of American voters no longer understand the basis of American exceptionalism, and perhaps no longer believe that America is exceptional. To them, a presidential election is merely a popularity contest, not a political choice.

A long education process must begin. Perhaps only reality -- the long-term results of bad policies -- can carry out that education process.

This what you had in mind?

Well we're movin on up,
To the White House.
To the deluxe mansion in the D.C.
Movin on up,
To the White House.
We finally are the H.N.I.C.

We won't hafta work in the kitchen;
We'll have surf & turf on the grill.
Took a whole lotta ACORN,
Just to get up on this Hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we're here, it's black power baby,
Better start gettin used to that.

Well we're movin on up,
To the White House.
To a deluxe mansion in the D.C.
Movin on up,
To the White House.
We finally are the H.N.I.C.

Of all the many ideas I’ve seen in here for who, how, what we need to do in the next one, I like yours best. It makes the most sense in light of what we know.

I wonder of we could just apologize for the whole Revolution thing and ask Great Britain to allow back on commonwealth status.

The American experiment was a noble failure, but a failure nonetheless.

Recent history and this election have proven that we are wholly incapable of governing ourselves.

Many of the people who supported Obama have no idea how our government works. I'd remind them that tax laws and government regulations are the work of Congress and not the President I'd either get a blank look or they'd ask "When did that start?" They were helped along in their ignorance by the Obama campaign's continual harping on "Bush Economics" and "Bush's economic policies". Not once did I hear anything about the Democratic Party controlled Congress.

He was one of my favorite poets back in high school. I think it was his cynical attitude.

Really, could conservatives stop with calling McCain a Rino? One could make the case that McCain did some things that many conservatives didn’t agree with, although I would argue that many of them turned out to be correct in hindsight (with the exception of campaign finance). But he has a lifetime 82% conservative ratio. Many things led to him losing, but being a RINO was NOT one of them. One only has to look to the congressional elections to see that the republicans that lost were the most conservative of the bunch. Right or wrong, that is NOT why McCain lost. The main reason pure and simple was 8 years of Bush bashing and a combination of biased news and the housing crising. Period. The way that we win from now on is playing for keeps like the democrats do. the Dems play dirty and they get rewarded with more power. The conservatives always try to take the “high road” so they can feel good about themselves. I am hear to say, it is time to put on the moveon.org hat and suffer from ODS and attack relentlessly for the next 4 years. If we don’t, we are sunk as a nation.
