Were you paying any attention at all? Palin isn't a 'scapegoat', she is part of the reason we lost. wake up and smell the coffee! Actually, Palin is the reason McCain got as many votes as he did! Palin is the only reason conservatives were excited about the race at all.

Then they got 'excited' for all the wrong reasons. Palin was the worst mistake McCain made during that campaign. And that's saying something!
