We have a few goldfinches visiting the feeder, so I’ll see what the kernals cost. The small chickadees seem to have no problem with the black oilers.

Chickadees and titmice peck them open. As far as I can tell, finches can only gnaw. I also saw a bit more of the woodpeckers after switching to kernels.

The kernels are more expensive but might last longer. You'll see how that works in your case.
