Most Implausible Palin Story of the Week?
Weekly Standard ^ | 11.08.08 | Posted by John McCormack

Posted on 11/09/2008 4:18:43 AM PST by Perdogg

Via Isaac Chotiner, Newsweek reports:

The day of the third debate, Palin refused to go onstage with New Hampshire GOP Sen. John Sununu and Jeb Bradley, a New Hampshire congressman running for the Senate, because they were pro-choice and because Bradley opposed drilling in Alaska.

The McCain campaign ordered her onstage at the next campaign stop, but she refused to acknowledge the two Republican candidates standing behind her.

So according to the hatchet man/woman who talked to Newsweek, Palin is such an ideologue about drilling in ANWR that she won't stand next to Bradley, even though John McCain has the exact same position?

Part of this story is wrong from the beginning:

Jeb Bradley, a New Hampshire congressman running for the Senate

Bradley wasn't running for the senate.

Bradley is a FORMER congressman running for his old seat, which he had lost in the last election to Carol Shea Porter, a democRAT.

I am sick and tired of all this stuff about Palin. The Republican Party is shot through with wimpy liberal leeches and they know it’s overdue for a thorough “Spring cleaning” and to get it back on its true and proper path.

I believe Sarah-cuda is the one to do it, and that they - along with the democRats and the MSM - are afraid of her, and well they should be. All we the people have to do is weather the next four years and I believe we’ll see some fireworks in 2012.

Oh, and also my wife and I were in Laconia, NH where Bradley and Sununu, who were both speakers before her, with Sununu introducing her.

I have many pictures of her with the two of them.

I saw no sign of animosity.

We were about 10 feet from them, so had a good view.

I believe it's a good time to clean house so that by the time the next election season rolls around either the Republican Party goes back to being the party of Reagan or a new Conservative Party rises from the ashes. What good is a Republican Party that you can't tell the difference from them or the Democratic Party?

I took a magic marker to my bumper stickers and blocked out loser RINO boy. Now they just say "Sarah!" or "Palin".

Have gotten compliments from folks who see it, and more thumbs up than middle fingers.

Everyone should do this if they still have their stickers on.

Could you post a couple of them, please?

Your pics would completely debunk this new hit piece.

If this is true, it raises my opinion of her considerably.

If Sununu is the incumbant Republican Senator for New Hampshire then what Senate seat could Jeb Bradley be running for? Are we supposed to believe that Bradley was running against Sununu?

I suspect that the McCain campaign (and the Republican party in general) has been infiltrated at a very high level by moles from the RAT party.

For me not standing close to Sununu and Bradley shows that Gov. Palin is smart and a true conservative Republican. Why associate herself closely with a couple of RINO losers?

Bradley gave up his House seat to an unknown Democrat in 2006 without even bothering to campaign. His campaign to get it back this year was pretty tepid as well. I can't think of one example of him reaching out to conservatives in NH, or advocating the conservative point of view in DC. Another example of a "moderate" Republican who as far as I could tell stood for nothing but re-election.

Sununu at least campaigned, but was ineffective enough to lose to a former governor who failed to achieve much but raising taxes in her term in office. And like Bradley Sununu was content to just sit in his chair in DC and chat with colleagues and lobbyists. I can't remember ever seeing him leading on any conservative issue, or speaking out, or writing an editorial, or giving a speech, or anything to help the conservative Republican movement.

His campaigning was so ineffective that while he positions himself as a pro-environmental candidate, he never attacked his Democratic rival for her proposal to mow down the forests of northern New Hampshire for cellulosic ethanol. Had he simply pointed out that Jeanne Shaheen wanted to clear cut the forests of New Hampshire I think it might have made a difference in the outcome.
