I think John McCain likes having Palin being a scapegoat. Takes the onus off of him. Notice all the talk has been about Palins failures, not his. So he keeps his mouth shut. This fits right in with his basic philosophy of trashing his own kind while not trashing the opposition. Now its Sarahs turn to be trashed. Hes already zinged most of his fellow Pubs except for the RINOs like Lindsey Graham, so now its Palin. Also, John McCain has always secretly harbored a semi-hatred for the religious right, of which Sarah is one. He blames then for attacking him the last time he ran, and therefore he trashed Pat Robertson and Jerry Fawell. He considers Bush one of them (although he really isnt) and he trashed Bush. He is now most likely blaming (behind her back) Palin for his loss; once again its those lousy religious fundamentalists that have done him in. McCains got mental issues and frankly Im glad hes not President. The only problem is that weve now got a President who has a different set of mental issues, equally bad. It was like a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. We lose either way.
He could have won with Wright and should have won. It was a pathetic and incompetent campaign, and now they are trying to blame it all on Palin.

“He could have won with Wright and should have won.”
Nope, you can look at the calendar when McCain lost. When Lehman Bros. went down, so did McCain.
He never recovered and in fact his going to Wasington dance routine and then merely signing on board with the $700 corporate giveaway merely stamped it.
He has a chance to push an alternative that was being propsosed/worked on in Congress. He choose not to and paid for it.
For some reason folks keep running away from the obvious.
