I think it will be really helpful to keep a running list of all the “Changes” the people have voted for. Pres. Obama will start with the executive orders in the first 72 hours of his presidency, and then endorse the Dem agenda being developed over the next 2 months.

I guess we won't be able to start counting til Jan 20, but it would be good to start listing the items before they come up:

1. Ban on new off-shore drilling. Check?

2. Elimination of ban on funding for embryonic stem cell research. Check?

3. Proclamation on meeting Kyoto Accords by the year 2020. Check?

4. Plan for 30-day background check for handguns. Check?

5. Elimination of “don't ask, don't tell” for military recruitment. Check?

6. Instating card check rule for all federal employees who are not unionized. Check?

7. Nuclear power ban until permanent safe disposal of wastes can be found. Check?

8. Announce closing of Guantanamo Bay, return of land to Cuba. Check?

9. Pronounce NAFTA unsuccessful, and plan to place immediate halt on the agreement until deficiencies can be evaluated. Check?

10. Halt tax breaks for oil companies immediately, unless they use them for alternative fuel investment. Check?

11. Announce formal relations with Venezuela and Cuba, with plan for aid to the hard hit areas of each country. Check?

12. Pronounce “No Child Left Behind” a failure, and halt enforcement of the program pending thorough review. Check?

13. New “Home Schooling Regulatory Authority” to assure proper oversight of education for children who are being left out of the mainstream of American society. Check?

14. Ban on energy exploration on any national parkland, and proclaiming N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Colorado, Utah national Parks. Check?

15. Halting licensure of new coal fired plants until adequate clean coal technology is approved. Giving coal fired plants 180 days to plan to reduce emissions or be subject to shutdown within 5 years. Check?

16. Announce plan for “cap-and-trade” program, and making all major emitting industries fill out forms in advance of final legislation. Check?

What we must not do is let these “changes” slide through without protest. Whether they have fancy names or altruistic appeal, we must keep publishing the list and letting people know how each will affect their lives.
