If this "teacher" stated that she voted for Obama and her boss responded as she did in her classroom, I'm guessing it wouldn't be proclaimed as "a very special relationship" with her boss.
I went to the schools web site to e-mail her. The only hyper-link not active is hers. Is she so ignorant that whe honestly believes that we are allowed to stay in the military after we are dead. I will retire at the earliest age possible, and that is 48, I could not do another 52 yrs of military service. Our PRT (Physical Readiness Test) age group is limited to 59 yrs old.
The race card has been obilished hasn’t it? If the man is holding you down because you’re black and that man is part black, isn’t the race card null and void? Will the blacks claim that is the non-blak part of him that is holding them down? Just wondering
She must have been inundated with email.
She’s not only a sorry so-called teacher but a liar to boot!
Why do we continue to dump more and more money in this hell hole called public schools that are failing because of affirmative action teachers like her?!
FIRE THEM and hire the smart hard working teachers who deserve to be paid a decent wage unlike this fool.

And yes, Ms. Harris did refer to the Iraq war as “a senseless war” followed by the statement that John McCain “is saying that our troops could stay in Iraq for another 100 years if they need to. That means your daddy could stay in the military for another 100 years.”
Diatha D. Harris, is now explaining away her rude, crude, and contemptible behavior toward her McCain supporting fifth grade math students by blaming John McCain and his supporters.
Harris said she received no complaints about the political nature of the classroom dialogue until a reporter called her Thursday night. She blamed the controversy on McCain supporters still smarting from their defeat this week.
“If John McCain had won, nothing would be said about this video, doctored or undoctored,” said Harris, who is a registered Democrat.

She asks them why they are you pulling for McCain or Obama. One student says she supports Obama because “he is making good changes” like “not having a fight between Iraq, and having soldiers killed.”
“So in other words,” Harris says, “Barack is going to end that war in Iraq.”
One girls says she supports McCain. When asked why, she tells her teacher “I think it’s because of my parents are going for him, too.’’
Harris points out that the girl’s father is in the military, then says to the class that Iraq is a “senseless war.”
“And by the way,” Harris tells the girl, “the person that you’re picking for president said that our troops could stay in Iraq for another hundred years if they need to. So that means that your daddy could stay in the military for another hundred years.”
The girl appears to be embarrassed and doesn’t respond.
Harris said three children in the class had parents in the military.
In an interview late Thursday, Harris, 53, said somebody edited the video to make it appear she was an Obama partisan imposing her views on a child. In fact, Harris said, she made gestures after pupils voiced support for Obama.
“It has been doctored,” Harris said. “They didn’t show anything about Obama.”
In another sequence on the video, however, Harris sports an Obama button during a pep rally at the school.
Wanda McPhaul, a spokeswoman for Cumberland schools, said county officials were shocked when they were alerted to the video.
I can respect your position however again I say if it never came out of her mouth it could not have been used. I think people are responsible for the things they say. As with Wright and Ayers, I hear excuses but no apology.
For God's sake,, she teaches math.
How the hell did a political discussion begin in math class???
Well, perhaps she was going to have a discussion about the 100 years we are going to be in Iraq and how many soldiers will die. That’s math.
I have read where Mrs. Harris says “she shouldn’t have said that”; but no - no apology.

Does anyone know if she is still teaching?
I know they said it was a private legal matter, but if anyone from the area knows if she is still in the classroom indoctrinating children and collecting a paycheck, I would like to know.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A Fayetteville teacher whose classroom comments about John McCain drew the ire of viewers who saw the remarks on YouTube says she has received a disciplinary letter.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that Diatha Harris also said an internal investigation cleared her of violating state law or Cumberland County Board of Education policy.
