Mitt Romney would have broken Barack Obama like a cheap toy.
Despite the image problems facing the Republican Party, the former Massachusetts Governor would have conquered Obama without breaking a sweat. In a time of economic turmoil, voters would have turned to Romney to steer the country through choppy fiscal waters.
Romney was the thinking mans choice for the GOP nomination. A success in both the business and political worlds, Romney presented the best opportunity to revive the Reagan vision in years. Like Obama, Romney was a handsome, well-spoken, highly intelligent figure who held out hope for a positive future.
Its a deep shame that Romney couldnt seal the deal in the GOP primaries. His exit from the race was a harsh blow to the Republican Party and to the country itself. Today, conservatives are questioning whether Obama will govern from the center or from the hard left. Had Romney been the GOP nominee, no one would have had an opportunity to ask that question.
Romney was a dynamic, visionary leader in the private and public sectors, a big-picture thinker and a committed conservative. As President, he would have stimulated the economy, reinforced the countrys security bulwarks and advanced the goals of those who believe in a culture of life. In addition to maintaining the support of the GOP base, he would have easily attracted moderates and independents, thus denying Obama the Presidency.
Remember Romneys soul-stirring speech on faith and his peerless performances in the GOP primary debates? Imagine how Romney would have performed against Obama in the Presidential debates. He would have disciplined Obama, pointing out the inherent foolishness of his economic positions and ridiculing his liberal vision of the federal judiciary. Obama would have felt like he came out on the bad end of a Chicago street fight.

No way a Mormon could become President not until they solve the polygamy thing
I don’t believe this at all.
No fan of Romney; but he nor any other Republican was going to get the chance.
Okay, what was Romney’s solution to the crisis that lead to a $700 Billion spending spree by Congress?
Get real. Mitt Romney had all the money in the world and couldn’t even beat McCain.
So, a guy that most of us hated beat Mitt Romney, because frankly, we just hate Mitt even more.
I realize that his sycophants feel differently, but they’re a small group, who frankly have caused enough trouble in the party.
No Mitt. No Way. No How.
I don’t know. He always seemed kind of phony to me, fair or not.
I think I agree. I didn’t for awhile, but the image and resume was right. He had a strong presence and voice, which would have cut the charisma gap. He also would have had a solid economic message and better grasp on communicating health care from experience. People would have gone with the economic stud over the newbie.
Too bad, the RNC lost this one by pushing McCain.
Correct, an islamic jihadist would have a better chance.
Romney is the Republican Clinton. He’ll say anything to get elected. In Massachussets he promises to outdo Ted Kennedy on gay rights, and stands up for “abortion rights.” Go to youtube.com and do a search on “the real romney”
Romney could have picked Ronald Reagan as his VP and been running against Stalin and I still wouldn’t have voted for him.
But I voted for John McCain.
I realize this is anecdotal, but it should give you a small idea of the bloodbath that would have occurred if Slick Willard had been our nominee.
An a Bible-Believing Christian, I remember thinking, “no way” I would want a Mormon in the WhiteHouse.
Had an interesting experience recently though.
My CEO is rubbing shoulders with someone producing a Jesus movie, and she told me though they had gotten a Big Name NonBeliever (all of Hollywood when you get down to it) to do the lead (Jesus), the lead Evangelical creative consultant rejected the idea in favor of a Christian.
It occurred to me to tell my CEO that Deuteronomy tells us that “[unequal weights and measures are an abomination]”. Put another way, you don’t use one standard to make what you like look good, and another standard to make what you don’t like look bad.
If being a Mormon made us judge Romney too harshly, then that was wrong.
OTOH, if Romney is an unprincipled RINO, then good riddance.
No way a Mormon could become President not until they solve the polygamy thing
it is rare, is much worse to many, than rampant depravity
on an enormous scale.
Apparently the Mormon Church in California and Utah is being the target of massive protests by gays who say that the Mormons were behind the California Prop 8 gay marriage ban. The Mormons were the ones who stood up for the definition of marriage being "one man-one woman"....
Oh goody, already planning our 2012 loss.
Mitt Romney wasn’t a conservative from the moment he was born therefore he must be a secret liberal. Plus his hair was too slick. Plus he never cheated on his wife or have any financial scandals. What kind of politician is that?
Romney was never going to get past the dog sh*t story.
Ya and the Black President thing...oh nevermimd. It’s useless.
Solid economic message or what, the general public has never bothered to study economics.
We need to stop the Dems from being able to cross over in the primaries.
