The conservative base was supposed to be energized by someone who believes in global warming, refuses to drill ANWR, believes in the outrageous big-government concept of 'cap and trade', and of course his critical involvement in McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Kennedy, the Gang of 14, closing GITMO, amnesty, opposed the Bush tax cuts (citing the class envy/class warfare theme which he later tried to ignore), refused to use the name Hussein, refused to address the Rev. Wright issue, supported the bailout, provided little 'cover' for Sarah on the attacks on her and her family,,and just to top things off--considered switching parties to the democratic side and helped to slam the SwiftBoat heroes efforts against John Kerry only a few years ago.
Yep, a lot there to be energized about. /s Yes, I voted McCain--but only because he was the lesser of two evils, and because of Sarah. Never again.
When you summarize it that way, I am surprised that he did not lose all 50 states. He was in my training squadron years ago (1965)...I thought he would have been better. All we know for sure is that the people of PA and Ohio need to be home schooled all over again. They have no idea what is happening. I think they should not be allowed to have football teams.
