Yes it was FOX that had this segment on ole Joe......he’s also misinformed about what welfare really is...hardly the one to speak out on socialism..........

Colmes: Well, let me ask, you were on welfare once, was that taking somebodies else’s money and giving it to you?

Plumber Joe: Paid into welfare. It something to be used, not to be abused like it often is.

Spoken like a true wingnut. He’s perfect for FOX News. Colmes nailed him pretty good. He talks about his principles at the end of the clip, but really they are no principles at all, just the principle of a wingnut.

Jed has more:

So it turns out that when Plumber Joe was a child, he was on welfare, not once, but twice, and he credits it with helping his family ultimately lead a middle-class life style. He defends having received welfare by saying that he’s subsequently paid into the system.

Suddenly we have Joe The Reasonable, right? Well, not exactly. Plumber Joe has got something of a tax dodging problem. In the end, he’s just another typical Republican hypocrite.

Yes he should have just starved and not received welfare. He was hardly looking for a hand out when he asked the tax question.

It is really good when pious people use Alan the viper Colmes to Alinsky decent Americans.

///In the end, he’s just another typical Republican hypocrite///

To quote Maha Rushi... Conservatives brag about how many people are not on Welfare... not how many they got on Welfare.

Point is if Welfare was used as a hand up instead of a handout...

I lived in New Orleans witnessed first hand the destruction of the Black Family... 4 or 5 Generations that knew nothing but Welfare...

Seems to me you are comparing a mosquito bite to a decapitation and you know of the exaggeration yet bravely dive into that cesspool.

You won’t last long, here on a mere forum or in real life if you can possible rationalize the two.

I wish you luck but ask that you do not procreate

Seems like you and Joe have something in common. Both of you have been attacked by a corrupt government. Too bad you choose to attack Joe for what the Obama media stooges assisted by some corrupt government bureaucrats have managed to turn into a story about him instead of Obama.

Joe's just an average guy who happened to have a better handle on fair tax policy than Obama or McCain. No, he is not the ideal conservative but he stood up to the Marxist when he had the chance.

It's time we stopped being distracted into attacking the Joe the Plumbers of this country and concentrate on attacking the corrupt government and the lying media who cover for them. For all we know, most of the stuff on Joe that you find in a Google search is lies and half-truths. What they put on Fox and the rest of the media is no better. Just look at what they've been saying about Palin.

Tell me you are not slamming Joe because his family was on welfare when he was a child? I'll make an additional confession...my father got laid off when I was a child. I think, once, my parents used something akin to food stamps to feed their three children. That's right! Hang me now!! Am I to be drummed of FR as a hypocrit?

I have never seen any Republican or conservative say that there should be no safety net, ever, for anyone. What we say is the assistance should be temporary and not a life-style. For both my parents and myself, our situations were temporary. My dad was going back to his regular, good job in a couple of weeks, and within months my baby stopped needing formula. Don't worry, we've paid you back thousand-fold for the assistance that we were given.
