Please no anti-mormon comments, those are old. Let's keep it on the topic of prop-8

Blacks voted no on prop 8 by 70%. Why aren’t they protesting black churches?

The LDS Church has much to be proud of this week. I am not being sarcastic when I say that it takes real guts for a church that once sanctioned polygamy to fight for real marriage in California. It was predictable that pro-gay marriage forces would target Mormons if Prop 8 passed, yet the LDS did the courageous thing and fought for Prop 8 anyway. I was especially touched by the stories of ordinary Mormon families who donated what for them (for most people) were large sums of money to support Prop 8. Hats off to the LDS! Surely, the Lord is pleased.
P.S. Are there any Mormon freepers? If so, are you as proud of your church as you have a right to be?

Message to the pervs of California...it was the *black* voters of the state that passed it.That’s a proven fact,So it looks like your “days of rage” should be directed at “black” churches. And while you’re at it maybe you’d want to gather 100,000 pervs at the state’s NAACP Headquarters.

Mormons don’t just talk the talk. They walk the walk. One can disagree with them on some doctrine, but you can’t say that they haven’t been a phenomenal force for good on moral issues.

Anti-Mormon? With the topic being that of Prop 8 the only negative comments you’re going to get will be that we haven’t seen enough boys in white shirts on 10-speeds to high-five lately. Thanks for what you folks did to preseve decency in California and the USA. Seriously. Thank you.

It’s not a matter of being proud, it’s doing what’s right!

Jews and Christians once sanctioned polygamy (it’s in the Bible). Muslims still do.

I would suspect Hispanic voters went for this in large numbers also.
The LDS Church? These folks know churches are easy targets these days.

This is extremely inappropriate.

I think the LDS have a lot to be proud of. I fault the other rather conservative/evangelical congregations such as Southern Baptist, Assembly of God, etc for not standing as tall as they did. The Catholic Church did OK but were conflicted by their internal splits as to which way to go.

Good question. I guess they are afraid to go down into those neighborhoods and protest.
To: PeterFinn
I agree 100%. Thanks, LDS. Thank you very much.

They know we won’t kill them or beat them senseless. They really need to prance down in Watts or Compton against the churches there just to see how brave they are.

I have the utmost respect for the LDS. My wife has many homeschool mother friends who are and they are wonderful people. This is a fine example of their devotion to what is good and sacred. Other Christians should thank them for doing the heavy lifting in this fight instead of “throwing them under the bus”.
