BOSTON - President-elect Barack Obama’s aunt intends to fight a deportation order and remain in the United States, her immigration lawyer said today.
The Associated Press found that Zeituni Onyango, 56, is staying with relatives in Cleveland after fleeing her public housing apartment in Boston. She had been living there five years.

I’m intrigued.. Why is she seeking asylum in the US in the first place? The lawyer is not talking..
She won’t have to fight. According to his own transition website, she’ll just have to pay a fine (which he will charge each of us for and then give to her), learn to speak English (which she already knows), and then get in line with everyone else.
Cleveland has a large Muslim community, so I reckon that’s a good place for her. Maybe she can appeal to the new president for permanent status?! What a mess we have created.
He’s our POTUS-Elect now. As such, his family tree must be well guarded. I’m surprised his immediate family in Kenya has not been flown to U.S. territory. The last thing we want is for some nutjob terrorist in Africa to start having ideas about getting to our President through extorsion.

Yes, that was my first question when all this came out - just how many illegal relatives does he have here? Not that he’d ever tell. Of course he didn’t try to help her stay here legally because she is a nobody with no connections. She can’t feed his ego. She can’t donate millions of dollars and set him up in some lofty appointment. He has probably all but cut her and the other unworthy relatives (legal and illegal alike) out of his life and can’t be bothered with family bonds.
That aside, notice his “campaign” said he didn’t know about her status. “He” hasn’t felt the need to comment. Of course he knew she was here illegally. Just as he knows how many other relatives are here illegally and you know he’s done his own little behind the scenes investigating where Uncle Omar is. Again, not that he cares about them but that he cares about his image to know exactly how far away he needs to keep himself from them.
Where would you draw the line? At his whole tribe?

This is EXACTLY why we need to ensure that he is a citizen of the United States. If he is NOT a citizen, he is truly vulnerable to all sorts of anti-American activity.
