He caused the Cuban Missile Crisis by his bungling the Bay of Pigs and refusing to believe early reports of what was going on in Cuba when he could have back door told the Russians to cease and desist . Instead he waits too long and then makes it an international issue with the whole world at stake

And to allow the Russians to save face he pulled our missiles out of Turkey and gave assurances that Cuba was Castros for as long as he lives

Yeah he was on drugs for his back and pep up pills from some kook doctor plus his Addison’s disease drugs which was kept from the public till years later
