He got asked if he has been in touch with former living presidents, and he said something to the effect of “I havent been doing any Nancy Reagan Seiances (sp.) but I have been in touch with...”
He was trying to be funny. He wasn’t, but his intention IMHO was not to mock Nancy Reagan.

She's not much of a target today, not someone a politician would go out of his way to attack, but the comment did show insensitivity.
The Hillary people accused him of being a misogynist with his "sweetie" this and "sweetie" that. The Palin people took offense at his "lipstick on a pig" comment. A lot of people call Obama a narcissist. And then he lets a comment like this drop on his first outing. Not a good sign.
Actually, it would have been kind of funny or at least disarming if he'd said "living ones" and let it go at that.
