It is not the original, even if it is legit it is just a printing of a computer record. I want to see the original with the attending doctor's signature. I have a certified copy of my original at it even has the date of my parents' syphilis tests before my birth. I guess they were needed back then, but I don't know why.
Laws regarding access to "vital records" vary from state to state. Some states have surprising lax laws and others have strict ones.In Massachusetts, for example,*anyone* can, without showing ID or anything,go into the state's Vital Records office in Boston and see *anyone's* birth, death, marriage or divorce certificate and, upon paying the stated fee,can get a *certified*,*official* copy of that record.I know, because I've done it several times. The only exception is that birth records of adoptees are sealed.
Hawaii's laws are far more strict than some. But Osama *surely* can, verbally and in writing, ask (insist, actually) that his birth records be open,at the very least,to certain well known and respected news organizations.
But he won't.And this could lead a reasonable person to ask "exactly *what* is he hiding, anyway?"
