How much to not make cars? Can just paying the auto workers to sit around cannot be more expensive than throwing money down a Bolshecrat rat hole? It cannot be too long before it is realized that paying people with newly printed dollars is better than working for it. Of course not being able to buy anything with inflated dollars will never dawn on the new rich.

>>>A new tarriff on foreign cars is a lot more beneficial, and less socialist, than continued bad trade deals and US taxpayer bailouts<<<

How ‘bout they try making a decent car with a decent pricetag for a change. That would be a lot more beneficial and less socialistic too.

..maybe, but don't hold your breath..

They've had the R & D on the shelf for extremely high quality efficient cars for over 60 years.

Right after WW II they could have put in HPFI (high pressure fuel injection) , better brakes, etc. , (cue Jim Belushi) but noooooooooooooooooo.

Look at the 1955 Citroen ID 19 (inboard disc brake with hydraulic compensation valving, hydroneumatic suspension , crumple zones, etc, ad infinitum.)

I bought a Chrysler Crossfire last year based on having a life-time warranty, can I get a refund if Chrysler goes out of business? I ordered an 09 Patriot for the same reason. Now it appears Hyundai will buy Jeep. might be a win win, hyundai has done wonders in regards to quality of its cars. Maybe they can make a roof that doesnt leak on a Patriot, And I am talking about the ones that don't have the sun roof.
