The recounts will be done by hand, which takes longer.

As a left coast citizen contributing Pelosi, Waxman, Boxer and Feinstein to the Mix, The other coast contributing Frank and Dodd, perhaps it’s only fitting that you folks are going to send Franken to join them. As an 80 year old conservative I’ve seen a few elections, but boy oh boy! We’ll probably survive the next four years, but it would be really nice to get an early start on 2010/12 to make sure there is no repeat of this travesty.

this is Florida redux.....you can't interpret ballots differently for one group ......all ballots must be treated the same....there is no room for interpretation.....

a recount should not be a revote, that is what they did in Washington state....they kept finding new ballots with each successive "count"....

btw....the rat queen won big time on Tuesday.....she had millions from the unions, and the indians...she had given the indians a carte blance without taxes for their casinos, and she is negotiating union contracts presently.....this state is 3 and 1/2 to 4 billion in the deficit....

Last I heard an ACORN overseerer was checking the 'count'. I wondered, why they have not yet been ordered to 'cease and desist'!

That said; thank God, Coleman won. Will the 'soreloserfranken' congratulate the winner.(?) . .or perhaps he already has.

“Excuse me, but only half of Minnesotans must be complete morons— and they seem to be mostly concentrated in the population centers. Probably not much different than in your state.”

Well, I am puzzled by all Demorat voters, but I think comparing Sherrod Brown (our young Senate demorat) to Al Franken is a bit of a stretch. I’d like to think that Al Franken would not get half (or even a tenth) the voters in Ohio, but Minnesota seems to really go for the nut jobs. Even Kalifornia rats tends to run well qualified Senate candidates. Or, maybe its just a lot of party loyalty as you suggest. Yea, wait a minute, Ventura wasn’t even a Democrat. And there’s some Muslin character up there.

No I don’t see the comparison.

I’ve sat in our local precinct for vote counts. The tallies are counted, recounted, double cross checked, and then done by yet another counter. I ain’t buyin’ human error over 100 votes.

I don't know Ohio politics at all. My comparison was strictly Democrat vs. Republican percentage voters.

I’d like to think that Al Franken would not get half (or even a tenth) the voters in Ohio, but Minnesota seems to really go for the nut jobs.

I think you'd end up being surprised with the number of votes he'd get, even in Ohio. Also, regarding our stealth Muslim candidate, I don't think it's going to be too long before Ohio elects one, so enjoy our pain while you can.

As for Ventura, he won primarily because the other two candidates were arguably terrible. And he wasn't the disaster I thought he was going to be. He lowered vehicle registration fees a good amount, returned a tax refund, and stuck it to education to justify their funding-- all without making too big a mess of things-- arguably better than the equally unqualified Governor of Kalifornia.

Well, I’d certainly agree with you about Schwartzenegger. How could a Demorat have been worse?

Let’s all pray that Franken can go back to radio.

Well, Bustamonte was a card-carrying member of La Raza, so the alternative was pretty bad.

Franken and pals already blew the whole radio thing-- I'm hoping for quiet obscurity. ;-)

We use optical scanners in MN. But here's the thing, The scanner will reject your ballot on the spot if you double voted (fill in two circled for the same race), if the circle is filled in improperly or the ballot is crumpled or folded. It spits it out immediately. The the poll worker standing by the machine asks you if you want to re-vote. If you do he makes arrangements for you to receive another ballot. The original is not counted and put into a spoiled ballot box never to be counted.

All good ballots are stored away in case there is a hand recount necessary, as there is now. These ballots will be recounted but because of the way that the optical scanners work there shouldn't be any question as to the vote on the ballot. It's a good system and it is my belief that the RATS can't beat it. But, we'll see.

By the way. A judge has thrown out some absentee ballots found in a state officials trunk (sound familiar) because the chain of custody was broken, Now remember this is MN and judges are usually liberal, so I think this is a good sign. Also the vote has now been certified. So that's it with finding more ballots. Now we do the recount. So Norm has won this election twice already.

Democrat Counting Rule: Count until you pull ahead, then stop.

Have the Dems called in the infamous Chicago-based Daley Family Vote-Manufacturing Company, yet? The company is known for finding votes in the least likely places.

Like in used pizza boxes----votes suddenly materialize under the leftover pepperoni. This might be the year empty Taco Bell burrito wrappers hold missing votes.

If the counters take frequent bathroom breaks----they might come back with damp votes they found stuffed in the toilet tank.

When the counting gets into the late evening, watch those cleaning ladies mopping-up---they might find votes stuffed behind the voting machines.

And who can ever forget----the USSC stopped the crooked count in Fla----probably as appalled as the rest of us to see the eternal counting that was not going to stop until the Dems "found" the votes to win.
