I encourage everyone to call—the more the better. The superintendent’s office has messages taken by the communications office. I just spoke to them and the board is currently in a meeting regarding this. They have had calls from all over the nation. A statement is to be posted on the Cumberland county schools website later today. I told them it makes NC look like jerks to the world to have this done to a child.
fire the teacher and fire the kindergarten pledge card lady. it is one thing to discuss differing ideas at school in the appropriate class but not at these ages and it also is wrong to harass any student who has a different view from the teacher

Her parents need to move. Self segregation will increase as these incidences of empowerment overcome common sense and civility.
I teach children with IEP’s with reading disabilities. I do get my share of behavior problems also. Oddly enough, there are very few behavior problems in my class. The rules are simple and clear and fairly enforced. It is made clear from day one that I am here to teach and you (the students) are here to learn. Under no circumstances does anyone have the right to take away learning opportunities from another.
Your mom is right about ‘brats.’ Many of the problems I see go away when kids are placed in a structured environment.

Why does it seem more like a documentary than a news cast? Is this acting, or re-enacting?
I think this woman did something not so nice, and probably inappropriate (indicating support for Obama), but perhaps it’s not as nasty as made out to be here. I was expecting more yelling.

I reported it as being from Ashville due to the documentary, because the family is from Asheville, her ex-husband a part of the Asheville School board. Her kids were raised there as well. I spent alot of time trying to find this woman, and due to the producers of the documentary misspelling her name, resulted in her being labeled as being a part of the Asheville school system.

Mom always made it known that she didn’t care much about the “laws”, and would do anything to defend herself and even just stop a kid from being violently obnoxious. That threat of “I can sue you” didn’t faze her 1 bit.
She ended up having most kids love her.
