Try some of your local banks. You may find both better service and less objectionable policies. Several even deliberately did NOT expand and therefore didn’t fall into the CRA trap.

Well put. I intend to print up some phony vouchers for tips to leave with servers at restaurants. If Obama raises my taxes I will request they collect my tip on 4/15/10.
I dont mind the vanities. I could always skip them.
I suppose it is up to we, the readers, to poke a stick in their eye.
Shop yard sales, classifieds and second-hand stores like Salvation Army. Buy used where ever possible.
Oh, a lot of the Obama taxes will be of the stealth variety, too. Things like when you go to the stores, everything will get higher and higher as the companies will pass their tax burdens on to YOU.
And there are plenty of Yard Sales, especially "MOVING" sales around here. And there will be lots more.
1: Read the foreclosure Pages.
2: Locate the house on Zillow.com.
3: Watch for the "Moving Sale" sign.
4: Bring cash, and a truck.
5: Keep what you like, sell the rest on Ebay.
Spread the wealth. It all came from an imaginary mortgage anyway. The people get cash for things that were not really paid for, and you get great deals. No sales taxes, and I am sure the people foreclosed will diligently report their cash income from the Sale. *snort*

Good post. I try to do many of the things you suggest as well. One addition...if you have cable, cancel it and do not buy the MSM magazines or newspapers either.
We are in this together and we need to stick together if we are to weather this storm.
