ST JOHN'S, Antigua -- Antigua's prime minister wants to rename the island's highest mountain peak "Mount Obama" in honor of the U.S. president-elect.
"Boggy Peak," as it is currently known, soars more than 1,300 feet (396 meters) over the island's southern point and serves as a transmission site for broadcast and telecommunication providers. It also is a popular hiking spot.
Political analyst Avel Grant says the name change could draw more tourists to the island.
Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer announced the plans Wednesday in a congratulatory letter to President-elect Obama.

I guess any name would be better than “Boggy Peak”. They have probably been looking for a new name for centuries. ;-)

This man worship mentality really does make me wonder about the AntiChrist and his possible relation to Obama. I swear, when he was giving his acceptance speech, I thought about the “head wound”, how the whole world will see the AC wounded, etc. I may have to start investing in tin foil myself. As it is, I have decided to pay close attention to things. Closer than I normally would, I guess.
Nice little island. Only about 10 miles by 10 miles. I used to get temporary additional duty there from Roosevelt Roads when I was in the Navy. It used to be a British protectorate but they gave it up to independence. It is populated primarily by the descendants of black slaves that were brought there. Nice enough people but a lot of poverty.
It’s the Kennedy effect. But you know, it only took 20 years to change Cape Kennedy back to Cape Canaveral. Names can be changed.
He may be the “one” Jesus said would come. He is called the son of perdition. Bottom line is, he would be a person who was virtually unknown and rises to power suddenly. And he will be loved by the whole world.
ok, but there is a reason you wait until the person is dead before naming something after them.

I pulled Liberty in Antigua once. there were pigs and chickens running around in the only street in town, and we were warned repeatedly not to drink the local water.
What they name their mountains after is inconsequential.
Don’t do it. In a couple of years you will wondering how you could have been so foolish.
I don’t watch tv or listen to radio, I get all my news from the net mostly FR. I did not realize fully the obama cult until tonight waiting in line at the grocery store and the people in front of me and at the other checkout register were all gushing about Obama and how they cried during his acceptance speech and on and on. That was bad enough, then they started talking about McCain and how he lost because he chose the wrong veep.
The masses of human beings are putty before evil, no wonder Stalin, Hitler, and Mao made such a good run of mass murder.
I am going to keep an eye on this Anti Christ stuff too, wow, when do we wake up from this nightmare?
