The Church didn’t contribute anything. They urged their members to contribute.
The KofC contributed about 1.5 million.
I raised and matched about $500. It was grass roots. They mormons were VERY well organized to mount this type of campaign. They constituted the majority of attendess of the rally’s that I went to. Catholics were second.
When I read the several posts asking, "Why the Mormon's?", I knew that "they" had made a healthy contribution to this.
Couldn't recall the source of the funds, I just assumed that it was 'the' Church.
