Shhhhhhhh! Listen, be very, very quiet. My name is Ralph (not my real name… well yeah actually it is), I’m a retired Air Force officer, and I’ve infiltrated enemy lines! I’m a public school teacher in Massachusetts.
I’ve been working here for the past eight years since I retired from the AF. I teach business and computer classes. Whenever I broach the subject of taxes, command and market economies in the classroom, I’m sure to present both sides of the argument. Invariably, the facts win out. For some students, the light bulb goes off over their heads, for others…not so much.
For example, I recently had a student inform me that she was voting for Obama because McCain wanted to do away with the GI Bill. When I informed her that he didn’t want to do away with the GI Bill, he merely opposed changes, she responded (after much thought), well…he’s ugly. I guess you win some and you lose some. Nonetheless I’ll keep fighting.
So fear not, there are some good guys working in the name of public education. The other conservatives in my school are a former Army Ranger, and a woman who used to run her own business. Everyone else is a product of the Hack-achusetts state employee system.
Well, I’ve got to put my face paint on, don my kakis, and get ready for work tomorrow!

Sir, you are a very-very rare breed. You also deserve reinstatement of hazardous duty and combat pay for teaching in the state of Massachusetts. Thank you for your continued service.

Thank you Ralph! I too am working undercover in a public school in NC. Only my district voted 60% for McCain so I have lots of fellow conservative teachers in my school. I don’t know what has happened to NC. I was watching the returns very closely all Tuesday evening and when I saw that Buncombe County was going to be one of the last counties tallied, I knew it was all over for McCain.
That Asheville teacher needs to be sued and thrown out on her butt. She is disgusting.
Keep fighting the good fight, sir. One at a time is all it takes.
I was incredibly liberal until I hit college and saw what liberals stood for. My wife was incredibly liberal (still is a Dem) until she found out what we paid in taxes the year after we were married.
Sometimes it takes awhile for the light to come on. Patience is a virtue. :-)
