Palin Is Unstoppable

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 12:52 PM

By: Barry Farber Article Font Size

It's not just McCain's "bold choice." It's not just a hot hormone shot square into the gutwork of the Republican Party. The selection of Sarah Palin is much, much more.

Director Darryl F. Zanuck's 1962 film, "The Longest Day," about the Normandy invasion, got nowhere near the acclaim of Steven Spielberg's, "Saving Private Ryan," filmed thirty-six years later, but one scene in that Zanuck movie ricochets in my recollection even now.

Early on the morning of June 6, 1944, a German soldier woke up, sang a little Bavarian ditty as he splashed water on his face, clambered up the ladder to his post behind an artillery piece on the French coast, took a good look westward — and then froze. You could almost see his blood screeching on brakes and stopping cold.

On that morning he couldn't see water in the English Channel; only British and American steel and might, and ships and tanks and troops all coming at him.

I suspected the look on that Nazi soldier's face was one of those film moments that comes across even better than the director intended. However, in a radio interview, Zanuck told me, No; he knew exactly what he wanted in that German soldier's face and he worked hard until he got it. It's the look on the faces of the German firing squad about to execute Norwegian resistance heroes when the up-to-then pacifist Norwegian preacher mows down the firing squad itself with a Sten gun from the steeple of the adjacent church.

Exactly correct, Sarah Palin scares the sh#t out of the dims and the msm types.
On another point, Mac is proving just how much of a Washington insider he really is by letting his aides publicly trash her like this. Very classy Senator. If not for Sarah you may have gone down in history as the only presidential candidate to ever lose all 50 states.

This is the best article I have read in a long time. Farber put down what I and many Christians are thinking. Kudos.

You guys really need to study the calendar.

The presidency is now a 2 year campaign effort. It takes 2 years to get the nomination and do the general.

She has to run for Governor re-election in 2010. Any opponent will point at any preparations she might make for a presidential run and it would get her beat for Governor. She can’t even hold off until after Nov 2010 to start running because it would have to be essentially the next day after that election that she would start.

She will not run in 2012, not because she wouldn’t be a good candidate, but because she CAN’T. The calendar won’t allow it. A governor not suspected and under surveillance might be able to hide preparations, but she never could. They would be all over her in the gubernatorial race.

So she’s out for 2012. Look elsewhere.

Yeah, really helped in the election, didn’t it. Check the date on the piece. Wonder what this dope would write now. We will not win by turning out more of the base.

Bobby Jindal will be the nominee. Palin has no chance.

"Yeah, really helped in the election, didn’t it."

Actually, it did. Most of the volunteers in my county were there ONLY because of Palin. Unfortunately she had to run in a campaign operated by the inept and the disloyal.

Bull$h*t I call. I recall a certain person from Arkansas who didn’t even LIVE in NY winning a Senate seat there and running for president at the first oportunity.

Oh really?

Well, my crystal ball is in the shop right now, but thank God yours is working.

I guess we can all just relax now and let you make all the predictions.

Here's an idea, instead of the GOP running crypto-RINO's on us, find someone the folks like, can get a message across, and can "move the center" back to the Right.

You know... Someone just like PALIN.

The Dems got their base out by giving them someone to vote FOR. The GOP lost just enough of theirs as they relied on us having someone to vote against. That ain't enough to win.

"Palin has no chance"

Wonkish replys, ie saying nothing in 50 words or more is something that can be taught. Palin has the smarts to pick that crap up in a hurry.

Charisma on the other hand cannot be taught. You either have it or you don't.

And brother she's got it 4x4.

People said the same thing back when it was looking like McCain vs Hunter in the Primaries. "McCain will be the nominee. Hunter has no chance."

See how well that worked out...

That and the fact that the media was completely in the tank for Zero. It was a monumental task for McCain-Palin to campaign not only against the Marxist ticket, but the media as well. And a lot of people still believe everything those media worms say.

The main reason I voted Republican was due to Sarah. If she hadn’t been on the ticket, I might have stayed home. McCain is barely better than Obama. If she wasn’t on the ticket it would have been a landslide like Nixon’s - wasn’t there only 1 state that went against him?

Suspect you either were kicked off this site in the past or you are a troll — maybe both. Be happy - your side won.

I like her a lot - but I think she is now permanently damaged goods. I just think that she was run out without enough prep and of course got savaged by the ever-obliging media. Unfortunately I think it has stuck and will stick for a while, and I think the negatives from this outweigh the positives she gives in turning out base voters. Just my .02 worth, that’s all.

Bad math. She can announce for the Presidency early December, 2010.
