No chance. For the next 8 years everything will be blamed on Bush and the Republicans. If terrorists attack in 2012, it will still be Bush's fault.
The democrats will say that they are working to dig the country out of the hole caused by 8 years (or possibly 28 years since they still love demonizing Ronald Reagan) of "failed Republican policies."
