Not really. McCain is playing by his rules of honor. He doesn't get the left doesn't play by the same rules. (Not sure why, he's old enough to know better. ) These Rules for Radicals fit perfectly into what's been happening with the left and in the media.
I agree McCain should refute these comments. If he's really smart, he'll blame it on anonymous sources in the Obama camp.
That's the problem. McCain won't play dirty to defeat his enemy. If you want to win, fight fire with fire.

I agree with everything you say except that this is a real case of CYA by operatives working for McCain. There is no reason for McCain not to have defended Palin earlier today (if not last night). He is complicit in his silence and I know that these rumors were started inside the McCain camp... and I know by whom.
