News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCains loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

Thanks for the answer - I didn’t know that Newt was considering getting back in - he’s the smartest (and most honest) of all!!!
Sounds like we think pretty much the same! Sarah handled the abortion issue just fine - while she doesn’t believe in for herself, she thinks it should be up to the states to decide? If there was a way to gracefully include both views, then the rest of the conservative stuff would easily sell to most personally responsible people. That single issue turned away a large percentage of American voters. How can this be handled? I think it’s the key to coming together with conservative thinkers on all the other subjects. I would really like to get some insight into this issue to see if I can believe that the conservatives have a chance to take back this country.
Any words of wisdom would certainly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gretchen
True dat!
Being half right is not a virtue.
You are beginning to sound like an Obama talking point. Give it a rest. I would have done a write in, except for Palin. Many others did the same, get over it.
Yes.
Opinions are not facts, and should be labeled as such. Which is this?
No, only Harvard, or Yale grads can think, therefore anything we say is thoughtless.
Quotes, or links, please. Bet you can't post them, and I mean after the election quotes.
What do you mean? Do you want me to provide quotes from Carl Cameron or do you want Cedric to provide McCain quotes stating he stands by Palin?
He really is a weasel; today he and Cindy issued some sort of statement, but in the statement they did not try to refute the smears against Palin... He really does defend his male democratic colleagues more than his female running mate who tried mightily to get his sorry rear elected.
So there were traitors in the McCain camp after all...
Carl Cameron lost any respect he had by reporting the b.s. without identifying the names of the sources. That nutcase O’Reilly was absolutely gleeful. Its obvious he wants to get Palin on his hour to brow beat her. He needs to get those including Cameron who are elevating b.s. on the stand and grill them. He won’t.
“Country First” should have read “McCain First” - I never did trust him and was only going to vote against Obama before Sarah came along. I probably wasn’t the only one who fell out of their chair when he said “the economy is strong” and then made a total a.. of himself by rushing back to Washington and then voting for a socialist bill loaded with earmarks (don’t you hate that word). You never know what position he’s going to take - it’s probably a good thing the Conservatives don’t have to clean up after the mess he would have made. Now let’s get the good guys and gals in the House in 2010!!!
A quick check of ‘maverick’ — nonconformist, unconventional person, eccentric, individualist, rebel, one of a kind, odd one out, loner, oddball, crank, oddity, etc... — take your pick.
I think Sarah will want to drop that title before 2012!
Let’s boycott O’Reilly and Shepard Smith - O’Reilly is such a proponent of boycotts - let’s show him how it feels.
Hate to have to watch it again to get a list of his advertisers - maybe someone who does watch could post a list!
Maybe some of us are looking for leaders with common sense instead of lofty academic degrees. Was Lincoln a Harvard grad?
p.s. Do we know if these insiders were stealth Obama-ites?
Hurry turn on Fox - they are going to interview Sarah!!!!
Banning pre-paid credit cards would be DISCRIMINATORY to the POOR with bad credit who cannot qualify for a real credit card with their name imprinted on it.
Kind of like how unfair it is when they cannot qualify for a mortgage.
IMO they didn’t want to bother with feedback or comments...they knew they’d get blasted by C/conservatives who didn’t like the campaign.
You’re probably correct! Guess they haven’t figured out that negative comments are much more constructive than positive ones.
Throw the trash out!!! Gee - sure hope Newt gets the RNC job! Is there anything we (little old volunteers) can do to make it happen?
