Obama picks transition team
International Herald Tribune ^ | November 6, 2008 | Peter Baker and Jeff Zeleny

President-elect Barack Obama has turned to Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the fourth-ranking House Democrat and a close friend from Chicago, for a chief of staff, and John Podesta, the former Clinton White House chief of staff, to lead his transition team.

In turning to Emanuel and Podesta, Obama sought out two veterans of President Bill Clinton's administration, known for their deep Washington experience, savvy and no-holds-barred approach to politics. Neither is considered a practitioner of the "new politics" that Obama promised on the campaign trail to bring Republicans and Democrats together, suggesting that the cool and conciliatory new president is determined to demonstrate toughness from the beginning.....

John Podesta is Mr. Fairness Doctrine. Here is an excerpt from a report in he wrote for his George Soros- funded Center for American Progress in 2007: "Our view is that the imbalance in talk radio programming today is the result of multiple structural problems in the U.S. regulatory system, particularly the complete breakdown of the public trustee concept of broadcast regulation resulting from pro-forma licensing policies,17 longer license terms (to eight years from three years previously),18 the elimination of clear public interest requirements such as local public affairs programming,19 and the relaxation of ownership rules, including the requirement of local participation in management."

This report details how conservatives dominate the talk radio dial, and exactly what needs to be done legislatively for liberals to wrest control over the medium.

One of their recommendations:

"Require commercial owners who fail to abide by enforceable public interest obligations to pay a fee to support public broadcasting. If commercial radio broadcasters are unwilling to abide by these regulatory standards or the FCC is unable to effectively regulate in the public interest, a spectrum use fee should be levied on owners to directly support local, regional, and national public broadcasting. A fee based on a sliding scale (1 percent for small markets, 5 percent for the largest markets) would be distributed directly to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting with clear mandates to support local news and public affairs programming and to cover controversial and political issues in a fair and balanced manner.

We estimate that such a fee would net between $100 million and $250 million and would not overly burden commercial radio broadcasters."

The Center for American Progress also bankrolled David Brock's Media Matters for America - which claims to serve as a "watchdog" organization monitoring "rightwing" media for ethics and accuracy.

The first thing marxists do when they get power is suppress all dissent. All media must become organs of the state.

Given how lame the GOP is, I predict that they will become a docile, subservient permanent “minority.” And that’s exactly what the msm is telling them to become, and what the dems have in mind. If they don’t fight together as a group and cut the RINO garbage, they will vanish nationally before the end of 0’s 2nd term and we will officially become a one-party totalitarian regime. And 0’s $$$$ machine will start picking us off locally one by one.

Hmmm....I thought this election was about "Hope and CHANGE".

Then, the first thing he does is recycle some worn-out old hateful Clintoon retreads? I guess this was really about "HOPE for CHANGE". There will be more!

Same old Democrat bait and switch, for a new generation of fools. Suckers!!!

The appointment of the guys most likely to stifle opposition is absolutely done by design. It's a direct shot across our bow.

So the “change” merchant is giving the country old Clintoon retreads. Talk about “bait and switch” marketing! I predict it won’t be long at all before buyers’ remorse will set in all over this battered old country.

When that occurs, you won’t be able to find anyone who admits to voting for POO.

Ayers will be in charge of Ethics. Wright will be the Presidential Chaplain. The Pledge of Allegiance has been shortened for all schools to simply saying, “GD American”. Cindy Sheehan has agreed to take over as the head of the VA.

Are you kidding? The Obama faithful are wetting their pants with joy. It’s like having Bubba back...only Barry really has “black roots”.

A rather large portion of the "Obama faithful" aren't old enough to remember "Bubba's" term in office.

Barry’s pick for Chief of Staff...Rahm Emanuel

Rahm Emanuel Was A Freddie Mac Board Member
With the Fannie and Freddie in the news. It’s important to look at how the GSE’s lobbied Congress to build their dishonest balance sheets.NPR has a list of the politically connected that made it to the GSE boards. Before coming to Congress,Rahm Emanuel was a Freddie Mac board member. This means Rahm Emanuel has some explaining to do.The Chicago Sun-Times reported on Rahm Emanuel’s background :
Escapes controversy during impeachment. Leaves White House in 1998, never having to hire a lawyer. Clinton loyalist.

Chicago: Returns to Ravenswood, makes millions as an investment banker in a few deals; tapped by Clinton for a plum spot on Freddie Mac board; Daley appointee on CHA board. Wins House seat in 2002 with help of Daley Machine. Daley loyalist.
Here’s Rahm Emanuel promoting housing in front of a Congressional hearing, after he left Freddie Mac.What did Congressman Emanuel khow about Freddie Mac’s balance sheet? What did he vote on as a board member? We wonder if the MSM is going to investigate a key member of Congress on this issue. Can you think of many members of Congress who were on the board of directors of a company caught up in a major scandal before coming to Congress? You’ll notice, at the time of this proxy statement, Rahm Emanuel was by far the youngest Freddie Mac board member at 40 years old.Do you know many or any people who are on the board of directors of an S&P 500 company by the time they are 40 years old?

“A rather large portion of the “Obama faithful” aren’t old enough to remember “

They heard the stories from their “parent”. You know the fairy tale about how everything was so wonderful when Bill and Hill ruled the White House, there was no deficit, no war, no hunger or poverty...

Neither is considered a practitioner of the "new politics" that Obama promised on the campaign trail to bring Republicans and Democrats together, suggesting that the cool and conciliatory new president is determined to demonstrate toughness from the beginning.....

These presstitutes, Peter Baker and Jeff Zeleny, are such naive fools... They actually believed Obama when he said (fill in the blank here). They didn't even catch a clue when The Obama turned his back on public financing after having previously sworn to accept it.

To streamline any future reporting about The Obama, all presstitutes should henceforth create special word-processor 'macros' to allow quick entry of the following oft-repeated phrases in their future articles:
