ELLEN DeGeneres says she is "saddened beyond belief" a ban on gay marriage has been approved by Californian voters. DeGeneres married Australian actress Portia de Rossi in August, three months after the Californian Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage.
Yesterday's vote for Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment to outlaw gay marriage, leaves the stars and thousands of other gay couples in legal limbo.
"Barack Obama is our new president. Change is here. I like millions of of Americans, felt like we had taken a giant step toward equality," the talk-show host said on her website.

Sooooo does this mean that Portia de Rossi is available again? (wiggles eyebrows)
From what I’ve read today, she did not exactly go all out to defeat Prop 8. The Hollyweird crowd and the out-loud gays did not donate to NO on 8 like that community had expected. There’s considerable anger, some going so far as to even calling their messiah Obama’s win a pyrrhic victory.
The left has control of the education system from kindergarten through university.
This is a project to be measured in decades.
Amensty of illegals is also a big weight.

Now I have stepped into the Twilight Zone. First Obama, and then California voters decide to ban gay marriage.
Elleb? bellE?
Even the majority in L.A. county voted for the ban (albeit by a slim margin). Most of the "no" counties were in the S.F. area.Imperial County voted 70%.
If we can wean them from their reflexive, third-world socialism, there might be some opportunities there for conservatism.I wonder how many of those illegals granted amnesty under Reagan voted in this election.
So now she has a miniature feminine version of penn and teller and she’s OK.
