Palin was an awful pick. McCain lost the experience argument when he picked her. Secondly, Romney would have won this election. He would have debated rings around Obama, and his financial expertise would have made a very persuasive argument to the undecideds.

McCain was an awful candidate, the worst the GOP has had since Bob Dole.

Romney would have won this election.

GMAFB... Romney would have lost in a Mondale-like landslide. In retrospect, McCain is the ONLY GOP candidate that could have made this a race considering all that he was up against. Palin was excellent and energized the base in a way that @ss Romney never could have. I am so sick of RINO Romney sycophants desecrating this forum.

Yeah, I’m sure conservatives would have turned out in droveeds for the socialist Romney, especially after they started running all the videos of his advocating abortion, homosexual rights, gun control etc.

If you believe Romney is a conservative, you probably believe that Obama had no idea Rev Wright was a racist.

Palin was an awful pick.

You've got to be joking. Palin was one of the ONLY things McCain got right in this campaign. Name ONE VP pick who could have raked in the votes like Palin did. It wasn't enough to win, sure, but she generated enthusiasm that we haven't seen since Reagan. No one was going to get fired up about the Maverick/Helmet ticket, face it.

Palin will be back. McCain is history. Romney has crapped his pants with this backstabbing nonsense.

This election wasn’t about who won the debates or who had the experience. The press saw to that. Honest reporting would have given both to McCain hands down.

It was about who had the curb appeal, who was a novelty, who could make the world love America again, and who was perceived as more like the middle clas than an elitist new englander like George Bush.

Romney loses on all counts. Plus many Americans think of Mormonism as a cult. Unfortunate but true. 20,000 people at a time in middle America wouldn’t have turned out to see and hear Romney give a speech.

Romney will never win a national election. Never.

Can't beat McCain in the primaries, but somehow he could have won the election...yeah that makes lots of sense.

Palin was an awful pick.

Did you pick that up from Katie Couric or Keith Olberman?

Secondly, Romney would have won this election. He would have debated rings around Obama, and his financial expertise would have made a very persuasive argument to the undecideds.

Why didn't Romney debate rings around McCain then? It might have actually helped him win the primaries. You really think that being the CEO of an investment banking firm would have helped him in this election? By the time, the Democrats got through with Romney, just about every voter in the country would have had the idea that the entire subprime mess was the sole responsibility of Mitt Romney and Bain Capital.

McCain was an awful candidate, the worst the GOP has had since Bob Dole.

Can't disagree with that statement but Romney wouldn't have been any better and probably would have been worse. Romney couldn't fire up the base and he wouldn't have had Sarah Palin to do so.

Romney would have won this election.

Myth Romney: "You will embrace this attack on Gov. Palin and her children using Jindal's, McCain's and Huckabee's names
like our attacks on McCain and Thompson using Huckabee's name. Support it, from our lands in
the north using the fake law enforcement badges we fabricated. I will gain GOP favor by condemning it and
ordering it opposed from our lands in the south with Fox News and the MSM. Whichever way
the tide runs, we will rise."
