Unfortunately, you're essentially right.

Sadly, the people don't understand that since the federal Constitution says nothing about abortion, the 10th A. makes abortion a state power issue. In fact, since John Bingham, the main author of Sec. 1 of the 14th A., noted that this amendment applied only enumerated constitutonal rights to the states, the corrupt USSC was wrong to find "enumerated" abortion rights in the 9th Amendment.

As a side note, consider that while the USSC wrongly ignored the constitutional division of federal and state powers in Roe v. Wade, the USSC "remembered" the constitutional division of federal and state powers in the Terri Schiavo case. So it seems that the USSC conditionally respects state powers depending on if people get killed or not.
