Colin Powell praises Obama as president for 'all America' (Barf Alert!)

HONG KONG (AFP) — An emotional former US secretary of state Colin Powell said Wednesday the presidential election victory of Barack Obama would go a long way toward repairing his country's painful racial divides.

"It's a historic day for the United States of America. President-elect Obama is a president for all America," Powell told journalists during a visit to Hong Kong, where he was invited to address a business school awards ceremony.

"The American people are responding with great emotion, and with great pride in our system, that we have seen this latest step in reconciliation with respect to our race relations," he said.

"We have not completely reconciled within my society, within my country. But what Mr Obama represents is the best of America."

Powell, a Republican who made history as the first black secretary of state under President George W. Bush and the first African-American to lead the US military, publicly endorsed Obama, a Democrat, late last month.

"He has run a campaign that is inclusive, and has reached black Americans, white Americans, Hispanic Americans -- every income level. He's reached across generations from young people to old people," he said.

"The fact that he's also black just has turned America on," said Powell, who then paused for a few seconds, before saying: "Very emotional."

Powell:

You obviously didn’t consult with me:

NObama will NEVER be MY President.

If Nobama makes it past the lawsuits over his birth certificate, and gets sworn in on Jan 20, I will consider that I no longer have a President.

He’s lost his depth perception.

That is, after all, the only difference between a brown-noser and an *** kisser.

Wrong Powell. The black have stirred up the racial divide and you are a jackass for not realizing it. They have even said it that they voted by the color of his skin.

The fact that he's also black?

Have the decency to be honest with yourself, if no one else Powell. This was the ONLY fact that all these idiots needed.

If Obama was a white man named Wayne, do you think he would have gotten this far with a rsume that thin and all his terrorist and criminal connections?

I have a question for you Powell. Were you always delusional or is this a recent thing?

So that one was handed the Presidency of a huge and complex government in order to "reconcile" us to the downtrodden minorities have haven't had their turn yet? And here I thought they said it was because he was the best man for their job (if you like socialism). Just another affirmative action place holder then? If that's true, maybe he won't do too much harm, though I don't know what's worse, ignorance or true belief.

Oh, and the only great feeling I have, is one of nausea and disgust.

Hey Colin Shove It! Obama isn’t my President. I will never listen to anything he says. Just like I did Bill Clinton for the 8 years he was in.

A 4-star general who served in the Cold War supports a crooked Marxist because he’s black. What a load!

“Strange how we’re all supposed to now unite behind a man who I believe has an expediently hidden hatred of whites, even though blacks are just fine with trumpeting that “it’s our turn now”. As usual, the sinning whites are supposed to take the high road and be the better men, while the minorities are allowed to act in their racial group’s interest without apology. Where was all this unity the last app 8 years that they’ve been demonising President Bush as a man, not just as a president? No unity from me, and he’s not my president. He’ll prove that very thing himself before too much time has passed.”

It was my thought exactly. As I have said, maybe the black people will be willing to drop “African” from African-America, now that they finally can be proud of America. You bet it’s their turn and we will see if a black President can do better than the black mayors of the cities in this country have done.

The only conclusion I can come to is that you Powell and the vast majority of blacks in this Country are socialist. I am against socialists.

I think we need to keep these comments on hand so we can appropriately respond when the $hit hits the fan, and Bambi cowers in the corner.

When are attacked again I wouldn't want Powell anywhere in leadership. They will want us to save their hides. I will be too busy protecting my own family to be any help to them.

How does he represent the Americans who were tortured by Communists for 6 years in the Vietnam War? How has he lived that life?

He owes his political career to a man who’s organization SUPPORTED the North Vietnamese in war and declare a stateside War in America (they were NOT anti-war, they were pro-Communist).

"If Nobama makes it past the lawsuits over his birth certificate, and gets sworn in on Jan 20..."

Mark Levin (a brilliant Constitutional attorney, for those in Rio Linda) told a caller yesterday that this will go nowhere & it ain't happening. Certainly looks that way. Souter's in the tank for Obama, too:

Oh God, you had to remind me of the black mayors, what a depressing thought. Thugocracies, no different than African warlords, only with a better tailor.

This is what was always hidden under his famed “reserve”. I am looking with a jaundiced eye at minorities in positions of power with so much “reserve”. I am wondering what they’re reserving.

Nobody has yet mentioned how Obama may likely result in many black Americans having a *reason*, other than self-pity, for feeling persecuted.

Since the 1960s, the “race card” has been used, and overused, to the point where patience has worn thin among many, not just whites, but every other race, with black Americans and their continual exploitation of their victim status, and common misbehavior.

One in four black adult males are in prison or under supervisory parole or probation. This is not the result of racism or societal oppression. However, it *is* very oppressive to society. Why should society continue to put up with it? There is no right to be a criminal because of your race.

An entire generation has grown up under forced integration, yet there are still race based hiring preferences for *only* black people who are underqualified. There is no excuse for this other than racism. So it should be ended immediately. If a person fails school, then they have failed school, and do not deserve the benefits of having passed school.

Black people are afforded any number of unfair societal advantages, even in the language, that they no longer deserve. Why should anyone refrain from racist language? Certainly it is offensive, but every other race and religion deals with it be “dealing with it”. Nobody assumes that they are so “childlike” and “passionate”, as racists used to call black people, that they are incapable of controlling their emotions when insulted.

It is also “too bad” if black Americans are offended by display of the Confederate flag. Jews were offended by marching Neo-Nazis carrying Nazi flags through Skokie, but the courts permitted it at the behest of the ACLU, as free speech.

So now a black American has been elected President of the United States. America has also had two black Secretaries of State, a black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of our military, black congressmen and senators since the end of the US Civil War.

Finally, instead of black Americans having feelings of persecution and demands for reparations made out of whole cloth, isn’t it time that they act like other races, working to achieve what everyone else works to achieve, and behaving as a group as responsible members of society?

Black Americans are just as capable as Americans of every other race. So it is time to stop pretending that they are inherently inferior, permanently damaged and oppressed by their ancestry and history, and incapable of living prosperous and productive lives, as well as anyone else.

And if they refuse to take their rightful place in society, then they also suffer the consequences of failure that they have earned, with no pity afforded them no given to any other loser.

Spastic Colin’s got a point:

After all Mandela and Mugabe each ushered in a new day of change when they took over their countries after all the bad times-ah, what glorious symbolism!

/s

One thing that’s not sarcasm— read what was said and written back then about those two, and it’s much the same as today’s TV and news-the same naive, fawning tone.

Then reality set it, as it all so often does.

Now, like Dr. Phil, I want to ask “How’s that workin’ for ya?”
