As long as you are a willing vessel for God, He will use you as He sees fit. If He has an appointed time to use you to reach these friends/family, He will. Your faith belongs in Him.
However, the Bible also has quite a bit to say about God letting people go. Think of the prodigal...when that son wanted to cash in and leave, the father let him. Sometimes, as much as it seems somehow wrong, we simply have to let people go and spread the light and news to those who are receptive.
The issue of the election is over. There is no need for additional discussion about it. Whether we like it or not, the people have spoken. I don’t see the need for continued discussion about it with them, unless that is simply a ruse and a passive-aggressive attempt at gloating.
Liked your post but want to quible with your parable example. The father in the prodigal son was constantly thinking about his missings son. He was always scanning the horizon for him, and while the son was still far off the father was running out to greet him.
