Unfortunate. I enjoyed his writing, and will miss his work. It was nice to see pop fiction with an undercurrent of scientific fact and ethical dilemma. As I am starting my career in intellectual property / patent law, I especially liked the questions posed in Next, and I heartily recommend the book. Godspeed, Mr. Crichton.

Wow. Shame. I loved reading many of his books. I remember seeing the movie version of “The Andromeda Strain” as a kid.

Loved his books. They were a rare breed that read well and translated well to TV or film. He’ll be missed. RIP.

Lucky. Won’t have to live thru Obama.
(Just kidding. Prayers for the family of this very entertaining author.)
To: Perdogg
What a shame. He was a good author and a good man. Freakin GW true believers probably poisoned him.

I especially enjoyed his stand on the silliness and non-scientific propagation of global warming hysterics.

Ditto.
A sane voice on the whole subject of “Global Warming”.
Next to Isaac Asimov..Arthur C.Clarke..one of the great science explainers/storytellers of recent times.
Will miss him.

A great loss. I had no idea he was battling cancer. He took aim against the global warming scam, eugenics and other "sciences in the service of politics" in his novel "State of Fear". Of course, all his works were entertaining and educational.
The left, however, will criticize him for his opposition to their green dream.
