US President George W. Bush late Tuesday telephoned his apparent successor, Democrat Barack Obama, to congratulate him on his "awesome night," according to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "Mr President-elect, congratulations to you. What an awesome night for you, your family and your supporters. Laura and I called to congratulate you and your good bride," she quoted Bush as telling Obama.
"I promise to make this a smooth transition. You are about to go on one of the great journeys of life. Congratulations and go enjoy yourself," Bush told Obama, she said.
The president also invited Obama and his family "to visit the White House soon, at their convenience," Perino said.
Bush was also to reach out to Obama's defeated rival, Republican John McCain, who conceded the fight shortly after 11:00 pm (0400 GMT).
Well, perhaps. But, again . . . just ruminating, not asserting. So, if you are right, does that mean I should ignore conspiracy theory and fall back into my Romney support? I don’t buy into the criticim about his changing positions. People do, and sometimes for very principled and eloquently stated reasons (e.g. abortion).
As a Black guy the amount of arguing and fighting I had to do to defend Bush is unreal. And the way he repays one of like 2 Black Conservatives is by constantly pandering to the left. It's like once he got in office he forgot about us. I will never vote for anyone who isn't a true conservative again. I don't care if he's the only republican on the ticket. No more RHINOS I want conservatives.....real conservatives.
For what it’s worth, I voted for Romney in the FL primaries after Hunter dropped out.
Meandog, BARNEY BUSH bit a reporter today. I just heard audio on the Schnitt Show. It’s about time.
I think you’re right about a double meaning. Remember when Bush said, “You’re doing a heckuva job, Brownie” Hurricane Katrina. He was not praising Brownie, not at all.
maybe he should have said Frankenstein’s bride.
