Ted Stevens is leading 49 to 45% with 37% reporting
Dear god, I am reduced to rooting for a convicted felon...
but if he wins, he won't be long for that seat, and a special election will have to be held... any ideas on a candidate? anyone? anyone?

LOL
If you call what Ted got a fair trial...hope to the good Lord above you never find yourself in court.
I voted for Ted because of the sham (I refuse to call it a fair) trial - it should have been, minimum, called a mistrial.
IF, and that’s a big IF, he loses on appeal, at least we won’t have that SOB Markie B as a senator.
It looks like Don Young goes back as well.
Do take note, Ted is not a convicted felon! While a niggling technicality, in the federal system, a "conviction" does not occur until sentencing. As it stands, Ted has been found guilty by a jury, apparently one that was more interested in the Belmont than the trial, but he most certainly has not been convicted.
Echoing the Edwin Edwards-David Duke Gov race from LA years ago...”Vote for the crook! It’s important!” lol :)
Alan Keyes?
AK for AK!
Just read your posting - THANK YOU - I actually laughed - I SO needed that...regards!
I hear the R. Governor up in AK is rather special.... :^)
But I’m not sure I can agree with all who say that it would benefit Sarah’s national political prospects to move into the US Senate..... she already has a great national profile, now what she most needs to do for 2012 and beyond is to continue to build her record of accomplishment and experience, and that can better be done as Gov. of her state than as one of 100 Senators!!! (especially in the MINORITY party where she would not have much of a chance to achieve anything at all, but only to help obstruct.... and we can be SURE that the majority ‘Rats would be very careful to try to deny her all possible recognition and achievement in the US Senate — they know what a threat she will be to them in 2012 and 2016, etc.).
Despite Obambi’s success this time around, I do not think that 2-4 years as a US Senator is ever going to be a strong preparation for higher office or overall party leadership. Success as a Governor with exec. achievement is still going to be a better pathway to the WH, I think.
It takes a two thirds vote to expel a member of the Senate. If he’s elected he will most likely end up serving as long as Alaska wants him to.
exactly!
You spoke for many in AK.
The rest of the lower 48 are fools voting for a Marxist owned by a Billionaire who bought an election with 650 million !
Go ted go.
Reminds me of Stripes:
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanour?
Convicted?
Yeah.
No, never convicted.
I understand. That trial was a sham. The case should have been tossed when the prosecutors were caught withholding evidence. Still.
I understand that in Alaska, the heavily Republican bush areas report last, right?
No, lets give the Marxist more power !
What’s the name of Sarah’s Lt. Governor? he ran in the primary agianst Don Young and almost took him out. My guess is that if and when Stevens has to leave that seat, she’ll appoint him and he’ll win the special election.
If he resigns, Palin would appoint someone until they had a special election.
