Looking at the tallies, all those Bob Barr supporters, knowing full well he didn't have a chance in hell of winning anything, cost McCain IN and VA. Thanks a lot!

Give it up already!

McCain lost because he was such a lousy GOP candidate.

He would have made a great Democrat candidate, but he sucks as a Republican.

BS newbie. If the GOP had fielded a legit conservative, the GOP candidate would have gotten the majority of that vote. So you should thank the party that led us into the wilderness instead.

How do you know that the Barr votes would have gone to McCain? Do you really think Barr is more responsible for McCain’s loss than McCain is?

I can’t believe Indiana is lost.

I believe it. I studied the voter trends and demographics for 18 months. Repeatly told State and National leaders where problems existed but was told repeatedly told that IN was in the bag for McCain. Even folks on FR countered my statements saying IN was in the bag for McCain.

Well, with 99% of the vote in and without Lake County votes, specifically Gary, Hussein is leading 50%-49%. In the morning the electoral maps will show Indiana as a blue state.

The jackasses that throw their votes to third parties are always, well, jackasses. Even if Coleman wins, that race is close for the same reason.

I don’t know that Barr voters would necessarily have voted for McCain had Barr not run but that’s still no reason not to lob a few rotten eggs his way just out of “principle”.
Please make a video of it and hit him in the side of the head so he has to remove his glasses and wipe it off in total humiliation.

I don’t think that an over-size ego is the thing that makes people run as Libertarians. I think that’s what makes people run as Democrats. The thing that drives Libertarians is an uncompromising ideology. Even if some of it doesn’t translate into a workable political agenda, the attractiveness of it keeps it on life support from one election to the next. Probably the real reason that Barr ran was that he wasn’t happy with some of the things that Bush was doing on account of the WoT and he didn’t trust McCain or any of the other nominees last spring to take a step back from the course that Bush has put us on. And to tell the truth, I think he’s probably on to something even though I decided on McCain months ago. Check out Reason.com for glowing articles about Bob Barr.

McCain’s inability to seal the deal was not Barr’s fault.

Thank the independents and the democrats (not the party this time) who picked our nominee.

not really. He got pretty much the same % of Republicans that Bush got. The difference is that there are about 7,500,000 fewer Republicans this time. Along with close to 3,000,000 more Democrats.

If McCain had did what he did tonight with the electorate Bush had in 2004 he would have won with around 51% of the vote.

He kept the votes from the GOP, there’s just a lot less of us thean there were four years ago. He lost independents by a slight margin from Bush, but it was the change from 37-37 to 39-33 Dem taht really did him in. He actually did better with inependents in OH for example.

I live in VA and came very close to voting for Barr. I supported Ron Paul in the primary, but I held my nose and voted for McCain because I didn’t want to help hand the state to Obama and make the dems think that they have some kind of mandate. Well, a lot of good that did...The republican party really needs to get back to its small gov’t roots if it wants to have a future.

I think McCain reaching across the aisle and trying to get “moderate” votes did more than anything else

Interesting take on the numbers. Small comfort now that Marxism has pretty much a free hand.

Care to place a wager that the GOP swings entirely the wrong way? That they try to capitulate even MORE to the Left?

There many NEVER be another honest election in the United States..
Voter fraud is being polished by democrats as a viable tactic..
From this time on voter fraud will only get bigger and more entrenched..

Probably the rpeublican primarys were fraudulent as well.. thats how we even got John McLaim..

Prepare to hear the same old garbage about how “it’s not my fault that the GOP candidate didn’t meet my standards.”

Horse manure and a pox on your house.

Any conservative who could not figure out that he needed to vote to DEFEAT OBAMA by voting for McCain gets no respect from me.

It was bad enough when this same crowd gave us Bubba via Ross Perot. But this will make those years look like a mere rerun of “Animal House.”

NO - the RINO Bush caused many to vote for a different party. Bush & his ineptness (puppeteers pulling the strings)caused the revolt. And RINO McLame that the Illuminati got nominated won big - as usual with installing a further One World Order.

Of course not. The people to be blamed are those who knew very well what Obama is about and still couldn’t lift a finger to DEFEAT him by voting for McCain.

That’s politically criminal and deserves every ounce of revulsion it gets.

It’s the candidate’s job to get the votes?

Brother.

It’s the voter’s job to hire the best available candidate, including the one who is NOT a Marxist.
