Tried to get away from the television screen this evening. Agreed with my liberal spouse not to argue about the presidential election. Went across the river to the lovely land of Chippewa County,Michigan. Drove a pleasant 12 miles to Bay Mills to the casino. Nice restaurants and bars also. Nobody there seemed in anybodies face. No buttons, no nothing. A few souls glancing at the televison. No comments. I kept a weather eye open. I knew the worst though.
I cast my mind back to history. A great Empire had won a war against poor farmers in South Africa. This was the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1901. It was not a fair contest. Then came the war on Germany 1914. The recruiting stations flooded with would be 'eroes. Oh yes, destroy Fritz by Christmas.
