I told a Dem friend today that this year, the first year ever, my husband’s company actually did well and now we will have to pay higher taxes..I kidded that our motto as a couple continues to be “Buy high, sell low” since our luck seems to go that way.

Her response? “Be happy that you had the opportunity to make 250,000 dollars”

I couldn’t believe it! First, I told her that 150,000 is the point at which the top 5% wage earners will be taxed. Secondly, my husband has gone back to school in the last few years, lost his job, started his own company and has traveled to Ireland for the past 10 months, away from family and friends because that was where his consulting job was.

Yet, he is supposed to be happy that all the time spent away from home made us less money in real terms.

But that’s the mentality out there...

I told her I guess I’m a selfish, unpatriotic citizen who had the audacity of hoping that the money I worked for was actually going to go in my savings account in case next year is not a good year.

Tell her you will be happy to work just hard enough to make $1,000 less than whatever Obama sets his tax increase at, and will happily lay off as many workers as that takes knowing that Obama will take care of them.

You see from your comments that there was a plausible slacker revolution last night. All of those entitlement babies who’s own parents have cut them off are left with their X-Box and their envy, wondering how they are going to pay the rent.

They resent us for working hard and don’t intend to do the same. Instead they want to sock it to the rich as they used to say and get a nice tit to suckle on. It’s our milk but it’s obama’s tit.
