I like to do the TV/radio split. Radio is better for descriptive calls. Not to mention most of those big TV guys are libs, whereas a radio guy might be a local with a real connection to the team.
I’m not going to act like a Gore voter. I lived through that here in Florida in 2000.
I would not deter anyone from being a journalist, but I've been doing what I do for too long to waste the knowledge I have. Somebody else will have to do that part.
My suggestion is not that we all stop spending and investing. It does us no good to become poor. My suggestion is to direct our capital to places where it will enrich ourselves and our like-minded allies, while denying it to those who oppose us.
Let those who voted for Obama have a recession where they live and work. We can have a booming economy amoungst ourselves.
Please add me to Galt’s Gulch.
Would you or someone else on this thread be interested in this? I suspect we're living in the second half of the book, and those FReepers who have avoided reading it need to understand where we're heading.
Never read it, may have to check it out
Please add me to your ping list.
Please add me to your Atlas shrugged ping list.
Bookmarked...love sites like that! Thanks!
Plus all that crap comes from China thanks to Bill Clinton. Let it rot
it works. People quit driving and look at gas prices now
sho local and avoid the big chain stores. Everything you buy there is a piece of @@@@ anyway. Go online and buy American if you can find anything still made here
For the last several years, I have have stopped going to movies with certain “stars” or those produced from certain studios. I also have completely stopped buying musical CD’s.
Finding everything I need made in America is next to impossible now. I keep looking, but geez it is difficult.
Cookiedough
I live near several small towns and I periodically go into the hardware stores, ask to see a high priced item, have the guys or girls take it out of the box, look it over, make guttural noises, and then say "Oh wait, this is made in China, never mind". Believe me they are getting the message
Nice rant. Thanks for posting this.
Add me as well.
That's an excellent answer to the question posed. It's the basic recipe for finding the Gulch. I think the only map you'll find is already in your mind, you need to be able to recognize what's needed and then act decisively.
Add me as well.
I read Atlas Shrugged last year, WOW! I didn’t know there was a name for what I have been doing all these years.
“So here it is: there is no Galts Gulch, and if you shut off your part of the economy then it will go to China or India. Starve the beast? The beast will borrow against your grand children while they nationalize your 401K. Infiltrate the media and start reporting who, what, when, where, and how. Ten serious journalists could have stopped Obama’s campagin dead. Stop the post-modern, relativistic prattle and the he-said she-said style of reporting. A sort of, kind of conservative news channel and talk radio is not enough. We need to infiltrate the AP and be the one to file the stories to begin with. We need to buy up local papers and pour a big can of America into them. If you think about it, wasn’t that what Mrs. Rand was really doing when she wrote her bookshe was informing and influencing people and what, fifty years later, we’re here quoting her even though not 1 in 10 here are objectivists or whatever”
A very good post to chew on.
So the next question is the means - are you suggesting we pool our resources to buy these media outlets?
