Los Angeles: Barack Obama has promised to increase taxes if he becomes president of the United States. But the really rich want change and many of them have said they are voting for the senator from Illinois. Despite the tradition that says the country's wealthy tend to favour the Republican Party, there has been an unexpected swing ahead of Tuesday's election that favours the black Democratic candidate.
For starters, the country's two richest men, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, have already said they will vote for Obama. According to Forbes magazine, Gates - worth an estimated $55.5 billion - contributed $2,300 to the Democrat's campaign in the primaries.

Buffett owns the nations largest Mobile Home Manufacturing Company. If Americans standard of living drops he still wins. What amazes me is the number of GOP ears he seems to have aside from the DEMs. It was in the media that the first thing Arnie did as governor of Cali was to have a meeting with him.

As far as Buffet is concerned, IMHO, he and Soros have manipulated the Stock Market over the last 9 months to take Iraq off the table and put Economics as the major issue.

Not really.
Outside of paying for and using windows, there are three choices.
1. stealing it.
2. Buying a mac.
3. Using linux.
Out of these three options, Microsoft and of course Gates would want you going option three the least. And from a marketshare POV, they’d rather you steal windows than use apple software. Of course, they want you buying it.
But.............
If you want to piss off ol’ billy here, use linux.

There’s rich, and there’s “far beyond rich.” They don’t think the same, because they don’t face the same threats. Bill and Warren have so much money they can’t spend it on themselves. Taxes don’t matter to them. Their charities matter, and if the government can make you add to them, so much the better.
Well Lenin said that the capitalists would sell the rope that they are eventually hanged with. A better statement might be that the rich *think* that taxes will be raised on income, not wealth. Not that that’s necessarily the true outcome. What’s more if you’re Warren Buffet or Bill Gates, whatever rules get passed won’t apply to you - they’ll have a way around it.
Yep. Now liberals will be all for Windows Vista with all of its NSA backdoors and smear Linux advocates as “right-wing loons”. Just as I predicted late last year.
