Pregnant and new mothers may be required to submit to government screening and treatment for depression if Democrats in Congress have their way.
The Melanie Blocker Stokes Mother's Act, or S. 1375, is named after a pharmaceutical sales manager who killed herself by jumping out of a window after receiving four cocktails of antidepressants, anti-anxiety and antipsychotic drugs and electroshock therapy following the birth of her child.
The Mother's Act would provide federal funding for a program to test women for depression, mood and anxiety disorders and postpartum psychosis. It would also supply government-determined "at-risk" mothers with antidepressant drugs.

Whether you kill a baby before or after birth or as it is being born does
not matter to me. The fact that you kill babies or condone the killing of

Abortion is a different issue, but know that I am completely opposed to it

Obama voted against the Infants Born Alive Protection Act not once, not
twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES. That is the act put in place to keep
anyone from assisting a baby that is born alive during an abortion. Instead they
allow them to die by not feeding them or assisting them in any way or do more
to harm the child to encourage death.
He also voted against a ban on partial-birth abortion in the Illinois state
senate.

The way that I cut and pasted this has cause some confusion.
I DID NOT WRITE THE EMAIL. IT WAS SENT TO ME FROM Dr. Tracy , Executive Director of the NON PARTISAN “Drug Awareness Org.”.
She is not partisan in her updates but I thought that this email was TOO IMPORTANT NOT TO POST.
Obama supports this Mother Act.
She wanted to let people know that along with supporting a bill that might force pregnant women to take drugs that are known to cause birth defects. ANOTHER REASON TO NOT VOTE OBAMA.
My cut and paste job wasn’t self-explanatory and has led some freepers to think that I’m not POLITICAL OR PARTISAN.
That was Dr. Tracy stating that.
